My favorite place on the island

When we came to isla last, we ate lomitas 4 times in a week. Dined in the first meal and then did take out 3 nights. I dream of the bean soup when we go home and cant wait to have it again. My husband gets a chili relleno, which is a meal. Its the biggest stuffed chili you will... read more

Sweet lady, wonderful food! This was the best meal value and flavor ever. I had spicy shrimp and my friend had red snapper. We all started with guacamole and chips, black bean soup and then our main course. It was delicious!

It was a somewhat cool breezy day, perfect for sopa de frijoles! We had been told, this is the best sopa you will probably ever eat, they weren't kidding. This is some seriously awesome sopa! A big clay bowl loaded with beans, rice and a deliciously rich broth. Then piled high with onions, tomatoes, cilantro, avocado and quesa fresco. As... More

Very good food prepared in a way I believe was quite authentic. A small restaurant with just a few outside tables sitting right on the sidewalk next to the road. Strong margaritas, and the overall price was extremely budget friendly. There is a hand written menu board, which may change daily, but I can tell you we enjoyed the Enchildas... More

My girlfriend was craving Sopa de limon. She got a great rec of this place. You could tell the minute you walked in this place was going to be good. Very colorful small Mexican restaurant with plastic chairs. The dog (Max) was taking a nap under one of the tables. And the smell of good food! She had her Sopa... More

My boyfriend, daughter, and I found this little gem while cruising around the island on cart. The place was small but beautiful inside with lots of bright colors and flowers painted on the walls. There are two doors that let the natural sunlight in, and that just made it even better. The food was amazing, with huge portions at a... More

My husband and I ate here in January and loved it. I had eaten here last year upon recommendation of reception at our hotel. Last year my daughter and I ate here twice because it was so good and, like other reviewers, couldn't seem to NOT order the same thing both times! That is, the sopa de lima (like a... More

This was the only restaurant on the island we returned to. We first had some Guacamole, Huevos Rancheros and some beers. Their guac is amazing, generous portions too. The huevos were a bit hit and miss, but once we mixed in their home made salsa we still cleaned up the plate :) We came back for a Pollo Mole (Chicken... More

We strolled up the street for dinner at La Lomita and were seated at an outdoor table by the door. What a lovely meal! The big and burly 'Sylvester Stallone' served us beer in chilled mugs, then a simple but tasty black bean soup, followed by the Chili Rellenos. Our best meal on Isla by far (17 restaurants and counting)... More
