We strolled up the street for dinner at La Lomita and were seated at an outdoor table by the door. What a lovely meal! The big and burly 'Sylvester Stallone' served us beer in chilled mugs, then a simple but tasty black bean soup, followed by the Chili Rellenos. Our best meal on Isla by far (17 restaurants and counting)... More

We visited this restaurant on a Tuesday evening and it was quite busy. Staff was friendly and the restaurant nicely decorated to give you the real Mexican restaurant feel. Each of the four people enjoyed the food and service. Price seemed a bit on the high side being $400.00 pesos or so per. couple. Nice place but a bit out... More

Over the years we've always enjoyed our meals here especially the chili rellenos. This time they weren't very good in fact neither husband or I could finish them. Our friends had enchiladas Suzia and shrimp in butter they said their meals were fine. So maybe we hit off night.

First impressions can be off-putting. I visited here last July on probably the hottest day on Isla ever. My legs were sticking to the plastic table covers (shower curtains). But the soup was so divine, and the Sol so cold and delicious, I couldn't wait to come back last month (December) and pay the owner another visit. And get more... More

Best restaurant in the island by far!!! We dined there our last night on isla and had guacamole, delicious, ceviche fresh and amazing. So much of it. The best ceviche I have ever had. We loved it so much we went back for lunch before we left the island. The shrimp mojo de ajo - super fantastic. I will be... More

A minute walk south of the church, brings you to a gem of a Mexican restaurant. We have had the bean soup (every time!, We can't pass it up!) which is delicious black bean soup with a mountain of onion, cilantro and rice on top of it. It is a meal in itself. The fish isleno is prepared in foil... More

This is by far the best restaurant in town on Isla Mujeres. The ceviches, enchiladas suizas, filete de pescado de coco, to-die-for chile rellenos and amazing black bean soup....so much food, so little time. Oh yes, and you must go for huevos rancheros for breakfast! The owner is a total character and has a great sense of humor. The prices... More

Seemingly authentic Mexican restaurant slightly out of town. Red plastic chairs and tables outside on the pavement with a stark, bright interior. Cold beer and soft drinks served in tall enamel mugs, the strongest margarita I ever had in my life served in brightly coloured glass beakers. We had lime soup (nice), bean soup (very good), enchilada Suisse with chicken... More
