The management of the house we rented suggested we stop here for lunch for authentic Mexican food. The decor is very "traditional Mexican" (as in opinion). Not fancy and not air conditioned, but the fans were fine. Looks like a family-run place. They had a good menu. The special for the day was various kind of enchaladas. I had the... More

Beer in a chilled, ceramic tumbler; ceviche mixto that is tender and fresh as possible; Colorful decore with outside seating on the front step. Classy, quiet, homey little place with upscale service on a winding side street. We ate here twice on our 5 day dive trip. Top quality food, wonderful ambiance. 8 minute walk from playa norte.

The food was amazing! My husband tried the chicken molle and I had the black bean soup. Everything was wonderful and the service was outstanding. It felt like we were eating in my dad's kitchen (if my dad could cook that well).

Nothing beats simple, family, authentic food in a corner. Stopped by here with a friend during a huge storm, soaking wet. Got great hot lime soup, very spicy chile habanero sauce and fabulous conch ceviche - to die for. Decor average but you are here for food so ignore it!

Authentic local food. Great down home atmosphere. Try the soap de lima and guacamole. Cold beer and a friendly and humorous host. Eat there often

There's a few things that make me so happy about isla and one of them is this restaurant. This trip we ate in once and got take out 3 times. In a week. I live for the bean soup. I dream of it when thinking of vacation. My husbands dish is the chili relleno. You must stop in and eat... More

Love the icy beer in iced ceramic glasses. The seafood stuffed chili is to die for, I thought tears would come when I ate the enchiladas suisas de Mar. I would be a big man if I was allowed to eat here every day. I love that the owner comes and checks on you and how is your dinner. Love... More

We love this place! Iced cold beer in frozen clay glasses, everyone was raving about how cold it was. Their enchiladas were to die for as well as their chili rellenos. I have read complaints about the owner but we love him....if you watched and enjoyed Seinfeld's Soup Nazi you will love him! He's a character, see the pic attached,... More
