In all the years (9) I've been coming to Isla, this was my first visit here. In a nutshell the owner was fabulous - and quite pleasant - and I would come back for him alone. The guacamole was good - not as great as I had hoped - and my fried fish was good (not great; and ultimately why... More

This little restaurant is nestled in a neighborhood. It is a little hard to find but worth the search. The enchiladas suizas were the best we've ever had! They have a hot sauce that will knock your socks off. Truly authentic, excellent food and very warm hospitality.

Stopped by for lunch one day with my husband and 2 year old. My son loved the guacamole and chicken quesadillas. I had the enchiladas suizas (never had them before) and liked them. My husband had a pork dish and liked his also. We both love salsa picante and eat it with every meal when in Mexico. The salsa picante... More

We came here on out last night of vacation and it was the best Mexican meal I had all week. It's a small place with great home cooked Mexican food. I had the enchiladas suizas and they were unbelievable. I shared some w the rest of our party and everyone wished they had more. If you're looking for authentic Mexican... More

I'm travelling around Yucatan peninsula since 1 month but after La Lomita I can hardly enjoy other places food and margaritas... La Lomita is not directly in the very center (wich is anyway 5 mins walk) and offers a happy atmosphere with the owner Renan, always friendly and entertaining. The cuisine is really, autentically casera and everything is coocked expressedly... More

We went to this small restaurant looking for some authentic Mexican food, and we found it! We had freshly made guacamole with chips, chicken enchiladas that I'm still dreaming about, and some very tasty margaritas. Dinner for two (with drinks) came to about $50. It is certainly not a fancy setting, but the food is great.

We stopped and asked a local where to have lunch and he directed us to La Lomita. It was amazing! We sat outside on the little patio and enjoyed one of the best authentic Mexican meals we've ever had. If you're a fan of mole (mole-ay) do yourself a favor and seek out this place. I savored a huge chile... More

Just ate here because of the reviews and dicided to write this comment. The food was tasteless (ordered their specialties) and the offered chips with guacamole and salsa are very prizy (95 pesos!!). Yesterday we ate at q'bravo a very nice and small restaurant with good local dishes at reasonable prices.

This was my first trip to Mexico and while the riu peninsula in cancun is an amazing resort it was not what I expected for Mexico. Luckily my husband and I decided to take the ferry to isla muerejes for the day where we stumbled upon La Lomita's! Here I found an authentic mexican experience! The restaurant had open doors...
