Fresh out of the water

My husband and I enjoyed the snapper. It was the freshest fish I have ever eaten. The service was great- our server was sweet and a little sassy, which was fun.

We at dinner and came back the next day for lunch. My husband and I both had the grilled snapper that was one of freshest filets of fish we had on the island and grilled perfectly. It was served with a salad, rice, beans and fries. For lunch we split the fish tacos (4) on a plate, excellent. Service both... More

We had a great time at Velazquez. We all pretty much got the garlic fish fillet. Be sure to ask for the fillet or they'll bring out the entire fish with bones, and eyeballs and all. The garlic fish was melt in your mouth. The french fries were okay. The rice was delicious. I enjoyed the margaritas too. The view... More

This is a family-owned restaurant and all the people that work here are very nice and smiling. They really welcomed me and guided me through the menu. Compare to Picus or Minino's, the waiters here are kinder and more "customer-service oriented". For example, the waiter made sure my 2 and half years old did not have to wait long for... More

But not my last visit. The 85 peso fish was 150 and was no bigger then usual. We have been served larger fish for more money in the past. Got it fried. It was over cooked. Usually this is my go to whole fish place. I guess it was an off night. I have had many great meals here. I'll... More

I got the grilled fish and the guacamole that came with it for free was as good as we had anywhere. My meal was very good, but considering it cost about $5.33 US, it was amazing! Wife had garlic grilled shrimp and it was wonderful. Lots of fish places along here to chose from. This was very good.

It seemed like half the menu wasn't available. I had to ask several times until I was able to order something. But I was extremely happy with what I got. The coconut shrimp was phenomenal. It was covered in thick coconut. The salsa and guacamole was also fantastic. I also loved the atmosphere. It was great to have dinner on... More

Velazquez is a small seafood restaurant on the north side of Isla Mujeres. They have great seafood at good prices. I got the coconut shrimp and it was delicious. I also really enjoyed the setting of the restaurant. The tables are on the beach and in good weather it is a must go.

Doesn't look like much from the street, but came highly recommended by the local fisherman. On the West side of island, near the main marina with all the fishing boats. Plastic chairs and tables, small kitchen, sand under your feet. Fish taco's (3) and a cervesa for $8 USD. The best I had on the island. Free wifi for customers... More

This place is a more local variety of restaurant. You will be dining oceanfront with your feet in the sand. My husband and I went here three times in the five days we spent on Isla Mujeres. The seafood is extremely fresh. Try the filete a la parilla and the filete a la diabla. The mixed ceviche is excellent and... More
