Stopped here on our first day after travel. Looking for good fish and margaritas. Both were delicious. And yummy guacamole. Bring cash. No credit cards.

A fellow traveler recommended Velazquez and said how great the whole fish and shrimp dishes are. After we had dinner, I thought perhaps we had gone to the wrong place and checked the name again the next day. I read the reviews posted here and I wonder what was so wrong with our meals. We had dinner here earlier this... More

Fresh fish with the boats that caught the fish right there. Nothing fancy about it and in fact it wouldn't be open in the states but this is Mexico. You eat and sit on plastic chairs with sand beneath your feet. Grouper and snapper cooked the way you want it. Shrimp and chicken too. Cheap and if it was any... More

Really just reiterating other reviews, but it warrants repeating. You come, you sit with your feet in the sand facing the water, you eat extraordinary food (primarily seafood), and you don't break the bank. Friendly staff to boot. What's not to love? Only regret is that we didn't go back a second time, but we only had two days here... More

Wanted fish and they did not disappoint us. Super service and the food was very tasty. Enjoyed watching the happenings at the nearby dock.

We travelled as a large group to Isla, and on our first night had a bit of a bummer of an experience. Based on the suggestion of a random person on the beach, we decided to check out Velasquez. It was perfect. Simple tables and chairs right on the beach next to some fishing boats. Eduardo was a tremendous host,... More

We ate at this restaurant at the recommendation of someone and it was well worth going to. The garlic fish was amazing and literally melted in my mouth and my husband had the whole fried fish and his was just as good. The wait staff were all so nice but the atmosphere was what I loved, You sit under a... More

This restaurant is fantastic! I loved the experience of walking "through" the restaurant and sitting at tables on the beach. Beautiful setting - go at sunset. I had the coconut fish filet and it was AMAZING! It was my favorite meal on the island so we went back for our last night as well. The ceviche was delicious too.

we've been to Isla a few times and generally avoid the restaurants on Hidalgo (too many tourists, pretty blech food) and we love Valezquez... first, eating on the beach at Sunset in particular is truly fantastic.. our girls love to play on the beach while we wait for dinner; we love their cocktails and the fresh fish, grilled deliciously.. their...
