Oh so Good!

We have been to Isla Mujeres twice now. We discovered this restaurant the first time and loved it then. This time we spent 2 afternoons and 2 evenings here. It is so laid back, great margaritas and food, fresh and tasty. The first day back to this lovely little island we went straight to... read more

My wife ordered the fried fish "drowned in garlic", and I ordered a seafood cocktail. We waited a very long (too long) time before they brought out a thin piece of greasy fried fish without garlic and a heaping seafood cocktail unseasoned and so packed with seafood there was no thought about the sauce that makes it a cocktail. When... More

Great beach restaurant - we had a couple of pescado frito , some chips and salsa and a couple of beers for next to nothing. The fish was fresh, well cooked and delicious. It was a great spot to just relax but I understand that if you are in a rush this is not fast food. Watched local fishermen working... More

My husband and I spent the day on Isla Mujeres and just stumbled into this little gem on the beach! The ceviche and whole grilled fish was our best meal of our trip! And as their business card says its "CHEAP"!! We loved it so much we took the ferry back to have lunch 2 days later and it was... More

Had been here three years ago and had good meal, this time not so much. At 7pm they were out of fish and the seafood soup. We ordered grilled shrimp and it came burnt (and I usually like my food a little charred). Service so so.

I have received the recommendation of going to Velazquez from the local PADI Carey Dive Center. It has made me happy ever after. The seafood is fresh as they only serve the ones received by the fishermen everyday (we've had three dinners there - due to the weather condition I could only have lobster on the last evening). Food is... More

Look for your ambiance elsewhere and come here to eat fresh seafood at reasonable prices. Husband had fish tacos (4) and I had a grilled fish dinner. With 3 beers and tip about $25 (usd).

We always eat at Velazquez during our September vacation. Service is good and food is great. Prices can't be beat!

I absolutely loved my meal here. I had the grilled red snapper, guacamole, and ceviche. Everything was super tasty and yet so cheap! I still think about the grilled fish. A whole grilled red snapper (and not small!) with tons of side dishes that came with it for about $5USD. Cannot beat it. Plus I got to eat by the... More
