BEST fish tacos!

Doesn't look like much from the street, but came highly recommended by the local fisherman. On the West side of island, near the main marina with all the fishing boats. Plastic chairs and tables, small kitchen, sand under your feet. Fish taco's (3) and a cervesa for $8 USD. The best I had on the... read more

This place is a more local variety of restaurant. You will be dining oceanfront with your feet in the sand. My husband and I went here three times in the five days we spent on Isla Mujeres. The seafood is extremely fresh. Try the filete a la parilla and the filete a la diabla. The mixed ceviche is excellent and... More

First of all if your looking for fine dining this place might not be for you. That being said, My wife and I had a great dinner at sunset for $18 buck's including beers . The service was good the food even better, my wife had the fried crabs which had great flavor and I had the calamari and it... More

If you like a great grouper filet that would cost 25 us or more in the States for about 6usd, then this is the place for you. Everything else is traditional Mexico where common sense prevails and there is zero pretense. Faded plastic chairs, tinny flatware, cheap paper napkins, maybe a Walmart plastic bag blowing past your table, a few... More

Six of us ordered a sampling of the food; it included calamari mix, crabs, shrimp, grouper, some other fish fillet and served with fries, beans, rice, salad. It also included a flat piece of grilled chicken - not sure why - but that was good as well. We all enjoyed the food and no one went away hungry!

We enjoyed our ceviche and drinks here, but the fish entree was definitely off. The fish was mushy and seemed frozen rather than fresh. Location was pretty on the water, and service was fine.

We dined here in early January. We were seated rather quickly by staff. Our waiter took the order but lacked any extra effort to make us feel welcome. My wife had heard this was such a great place for seafood. I ordered coconut shrimp and she had the fried squid dinner. It was quite apparent that both had been fried... More

Stopped here on our first day after travel. Looking for good fish and margaritas. Both were delicious. And yummy guacamole. Bring cash. No credit cards.

A fellow traveler recommended Velazquez and said how great the whole fish and shrimp dishes are. After we had dinner, I thought perhaps we had gone to the wrong place and checked the name again the next day. I read the reviews posted here and I wonder what was so wrong with our meals. We had dinner here earlier this... More
