Good find after a long, hot, fun day

Went round and round with our little golf cart to find a place to park and get a cold beer. Found JAX and we weren't disappointed. Beer tasted so refreshing, and the burgers were really good. Even though it was an open-air restaurant, they had ceiling fans that did a great job cooling the place... read more

We ended up eating here twice in the same day if only because we were too tired to walk any further! The food, drinks, and service were all good. The beach bar/restaurant we tried to go right before we ended up here blatantly ignored us even when we politely asked for waters. Jax was prompt and quickly and attentively served... More

We go eat at JAX at least a couple times every time we visit Isla Mujeres. It's an "Americanized" bar where you can kick back and watch sports and enjoy beer/cocktails at a reasonable price. The food is excellent. I would recommend JAX, especially on a hot afternoon when you want to get off the beach, cool off, and relax.

Our food was INCREDIBLE! Ordered ceviche appetizer...it was amazing. We both ordered fillet of fish and it was cooked and seasoned perfectly. Came with a baked potato and veggies and they were also perfect. Fun atmosphere with rooftop seating, though there were not many people dining. Staff was friendly and prompt.

The location is perfect, across from the beach, hear the waves while you dine. The upper level provides beautiful views. Owner was very friendly, food & drinks were great. Very safe on upper level now that they installed the mesh fencing, no worries with small children. Good value!

Stopped in for lunch and had the crispy tacos which were delicious. Others we were there loved their food also. I will be back in October to have the tacos again

No better place for a cold beer and some spicy conch fritters. I am glad that they are moving on with their lives and wish them the best, but...... Where am I going to get those fritters when it changes hands. The view of playa Norte is awesome as well as the food.

This texan owned texmex place feels strangely at home on a Mayan fisherman's island. I love to sit on the top floor overlooking Playa Norte after breakfast/before beach with a frosty ice bucket of coronas. And occasionally a few delicious fish tacos. Want some now.

We visited JAX several times between July 29 and August 5 for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. All meals are very good. I do think some meals are better value than others. We had the hickory burger and Cajun burger (97 pesos each). Both were very good. Their breakfast tacos are tasty. You get 3 small tacos for 97 pesos. I... More

Fir ya'll Texans, Jax is Darn Good Bar Food. I don't go to Isla to eat the same thing I can get at home. But, other people don't agree. No worries-fair enough. If you want fishnchips, burgers, American breakfast, can't beat Jaxs. Not my thing down island though.
