Food was good - service with an attitude

The food was good as we remembered. Fish Veracruz was fresh and Tuna was also very good. Wait staff seems to turn over often here. On no two vacations have we been able to find a waiter from before. Our waiter spoke excellent English, but seem to perform his duties with a surf-dude or... read more

On our first night we saw a whole fish being grilled out front of the restaurant and I was intrigued. We went back last night and I had to get it. I ordered the red snapper and it was awesome. Tonnes of meat on it and very flavourful. Guacamole was decent and the lobster pizza the other guests had was... More

We sat at a table outside and since the beginning my friends and I sensed the waiter's indifference towards our table; the waiter Adrian kept ignoring us.The food was O.K. but then the bill comes and that's when the mess begins. We were trying to separate each other's costs and noticed they had added 70pesos with no item next to... More

We try to eat at Brisa Mexicana for our Christmas eve family dinner. We passed in front many times and never stopped since the menu is fence and expensive. But for Christmas eve we thought that we would "treat" ourself. Both my husband and I ordered filet mignon. We ordered it "medium, no blood please". Both plates arrived with the... More

Let me start off by saying the food here is excellent but the management and policies are terrible. And downright dishonest. I live on the island and know the restaurant scene very well. They got into trouble for this sort of thing a few years back but they are back at it. We were there last night to give them... More

Having lived in Mexico for many years I have learned to review my bill carefully. While the food was good and the service just okay the billing was another matter. While the menu clearly states "Tip not included" they tacked on 10%, When questioned the response was that was for the kitchen. I reminded the staff that that was clearly... More

We've been coming to Isla for over 30 years and are very familiar with the local restaurant scene. Was here for two weeks in July and then a month this past November. This past trip we ate here 2 times and the owner (I think) even remembered us from the summer, although we only ate there once. As a result... More

Ordering ot the level of your restaraunt is a key tenant in having decent meals out, this place unfortunately looks better than they can cook. they main heat source is a hardwood charcoal grill, stick to things that come of a grill well. Stick to Mexican foods and fresh non-shelfish(sf tends to be over cooked based on our group) seafood.... More

we decided to try this place on a whim. Bad choice! They brought me fried chicken when I asked for grilled then replaced it with a thin over cooked piece of grilled chicken. My bill and my sisters were both wrong, they added over 30% gratuity into the each bill. We attempted to point this out but they pretended not... More
