Cuban inspired cuisine with great Cubano sandwiches and even better cuban-spiced fish. They make the best mojitos on Isla. Casual place on the main drag, but worth braving the crowd for.

This is my third time to Isla Mujeres and the first thing I do is stop by Qubano. I love their Cuban fusion food. They re-designed the inside and have a beautiful bar (with a must-have mojito!). My favorite things to get are the cubano (also a must), a tostone, and the hungarian potatoes! Vivian is a very great host... More

Some of the best food that we had in isla mujeres, great cuban food made with love and so much flavor! tostone (plantain mojo and chicken) and cuban sandwiches are a must have. Also the mojitos and watermelon water are amazing and extremely refreshing in the humid heat of isla. and you can order half sandwiches and half salad if... More

If you are ever here during the holidays and want a traditional American Holiday meal. Qubano is the place to be. Vivian makes the best Turkey, stuffing, and gravy on the Isla. She also includes, green beans, Hungarian Potatoes, sweet potatoes, and a fruit compote....Then Pumpkin Pie. She also has a delicious vegetarian pate that you would never think it... More

If you're going to enjoy one or two heavy meals on your vacation, let this be it. Order several plates to share (classic cuban sandwiches, tostones sandwiches, superior french fries with great house made dipping sauces are all good bets) and round it out with Vivian's Cuban coffee for dessert. You'll be stuffed, and you'll want to stop, but just... More

We've loved coming here for years, particularly at the old location. Last year with the move though the food quality at lunch remained the same we weren't thrilled with Vivian's new diggs/arrangement on hidalgo. This year we were pleasantly surprised with the remodeled space, but it was the food that disappointed. While the Hungarian potatoes (a favorite of ours) was... More

Highly recommend the Cuban sandwich (best I've had, and I've had quite a few), and all the other lunch items. Dinner was a disappointment. The ropa vieja was very good, but nothing else on the menu was a standout. It was as if the restaurant was under different management by night. Mojitos were great at noon; mediocre at night.

Qubano's is tucked away on the main street on Isla Mujeres, Avenida Hidalgo. Try the french fries to start. They are THE BEST we have ever eaten. Our favorite sandwiches are the Elena Russ and the Toston, made with plantains and topped with onions by the owner herself, Vivian. Truly, food here is prepared and served with such care and... We stopped in on a warm December afternoon and enjoyed some very refreshing mojitos. The cuban sandwich was excellent and the hungarian potatoes are out of this world! Vivian is just so charming; we thoroughly enjoyed our afternoon. Definately on the list of "must eat" places in Isla.

If you haven't meet Vivian yet, and her new little dog, you must go just to meet her! Never mind how good the food is, you will enjoy her company, the plateens, fresh cut fries, and the best drinks, and cuban sandwiches. Tapa's also served! A most do in Isla!
