This was our 2nd trip to Isla and the 2nd time at Qubano. The owner, Vivian, is Cuban/Hungarian and very friendly. I tell you this because she does both amazingly. We had the cuban sandwich (which we knew was good) and were skeptical when she suggested the Hungarian potatoes for an appetizer. Oh - My - Gosh. I've never tasted... More

Decided to try it out after reading all the positive reviews....so glad we did. Gotta get the Tostone sandwich. And the best Mojito I've ever tasted.

By far the best meal in isla mujeres. Cuban sandwich, Hungarian potatoes and frozen lemonade are my favorite. My friend and I routinely make the ferry ride from cancun to enjoy this place. Owner Vivian ensures perfection and consistency each and every time. A must!!

Located in the center of the Playa Norte restaurant zone, the Qubano is just one more spot with a host trying to get you to come on in. Like most all the restaurants on Isla, get ready to pay NYC prices (it's a bit of a shock for a cheap Midwesterner). Most of the food was good, it had that... More

We went here due to recommendation for others and TA. I ordered a glass of house red wine and it was not drinkable. They replaced it with a white wine very nicely, but white is not my wine preference. Jim's Cuban sandwich was great, while my cajun shrimp dish was not anything I would return for... bland and a bit... More

We have been to Qubano twice and have thoroughly enjoyed ourselves both times. We love the personal touch that Vivian (the owner) makes in the dining experience by serving us and sharing with us her life. On the food front, Vivian's Salad is light and refreshing, especially after a day of traveling or when you're about to embark on one.... More

Stopped here on our first day for drinks and sandwiches. Ended up coming back for dinner the next day it was so good! I still can't believe how good potatoes can be! The papas fritas and Hungarian potatoes will make you wonder why potatoes never impressed you before. The Cubans are the best I have had and the ropa viejo... More

Had dinner there at the advice of locals who live on Isla, and were not disappointed! A great place on Hildago Ave for lunch or dinner! Good margaritas and amazing mojitos!! Would highly recommend the Hungarian potatoes, and the Toston - a sandwhich using plaintains instead of bread. Really - it's not as weird as it sounds and it's delicious!!... More
