We walked by this restaurant as it said it was a combination wine bar/restaurant. From our standards, it really did not qualify as a wine bar, meaning you can order flights or there is a selection of wine by the glass. What it really meant was that they offered a small selection of wines, though many of them were Italian,... More

I went to this restaurant late last summer and have been meaning to write a review since then. But I think the fact that I've been thinking about this restaurant and the meal I had there for almost a year shows how good it is! Great Italian food but prepared nicely with local ingredients, especially the lion fish! Kind chef... More

My husband and I didn't expect much when we came after we went to guidos earlier in the week. We both love Italian and we're very suprised! Amazing! I had the gnocchi which was homemade and the sauce was so fresh and light! Very romantic if you get to sit on the upstairs patio.

We had the lobster and the lion fish gnocchi. Both were delicious and the tiramisu was to die for. The owner is from Rome and he is also the chef and is very nice and came and chatted with us. The staff was very knowledgeable and was always there when you needed anything. I would definitely come back here next... More

I read the reviews on this restaurant and they were 100% accurate!! Save room for the tiramisu because it was decadent! Tammy K.

The staff was very friendly and explained the different dishes on the menu. We ordered two italian pasta dishes - they both were out of this world! Ask for a taste of lion fish and that was the surprise of the evening! It was great tasting - we have to go back and I will order the lion fish for... More

We had dinner on the balcony and were made to feel like family by the waitstaff. The prices are right and the food was fantastic! Homemade pasta and deserts made in-house from family recipes. The chef came out from the kitchen to talk to us about our dinner. Go there!

Francisco the chef owner is from Roma, cooked at the Hassler, and it all shows thru in his superb cuisine. Our #1 fave in Cozumel after 6 nights of dining around.

We ate here twice this month during our annual two weeks in Coz. This restaurant has recently been taken over by a Chef from Rome. It features an innovative menu of appetizers, salads, homemade pasta dishes, fresh fish and seafood, lasagna, etc. All the food was nicely prepared and presented to us. The wine list, though not long, was acceptable... More

We recently had two dinners at New Especias in a one week period and thoroughly loved both meals. Francesco, the chef owner, is a great cook and host. His gnocchi with lion fish is a fantastic dish! The gnocchi rivaled Mario Batali's at Esca in NY! We also had the tiramisu which I rarely order because tiramisu is so often... More
