Fine dining in Cozumel? You’re kidding, right?

Well, actually, no. At the north end of the island, in an idyllic setting, Buccanos At Night (not to be confused with Buccanos Beach Club) serves haute cuisine featuring fresh lobster. I generally hate the term “fusion” but that might be the best way to describe how owner/chef Ines Falkenburg, has blended fresh seafood with unusual rubs and marinades. She... More

The reservation we made did not come through (so if you do not get a confirmation,, contact directly) but when I emailed directly I got a direct and positive response. The Buccanos is a beach bar which two nights a week Friday and Saterday caters in the evening. We were welcomed and brought to our table overlooking the sea. Very... More

Beautiful restaurant, amazing food, friendly atmosphere! By far the best meal we had in Cozumel. And a perfect view of the thunderstorm over Playa Del Carmen.

If you are a foodie, don't go here. We had amazing meals all over Cozumel and this was the most expensive and the least enjoyable.

I found this as one of Trip Advisor's top rated restaurants in Cozumel, and after eating there I could certainly see why. The food was top notch, albeit a bit overpriced compared to other local restaurants. I had their habanero and cilantro margarita -- it wasn't even spicy, it just had a bit of pepper flavor to it -- and... More

My wife and I ate at Buccanos on Friday, August 14, 2015. Got there 15 minutes early for our 6:45 reservation. The chef's son seated us right away. The waiter came over and introduced himself. The chef came to our table and explained the specials. My wife ordered lobster, and I had the lobster and cheese ravioli. The ravioli was... More

Inez has had this place opened for a little over 3 years. What an extraordinary surprise. Inez is the owner and chef. Not trained at any culinary school. IT DOESNT MATTER. Clearly the best restaurant on the island. If you are on the island in high season better make reservations months YES MONTHS ahead. Food is extraordinary. Atmosphere extraordinary. Do... More

Buccanos at night is really a treat. Open only on Friday and Saturday nights, and you do need to make a reservation. Two of us had the blackened Mahi mahi special and it was delicious. I asked for a tamarind margarita and they did it perfectly.

The night we were there, and perhaps every night, the sunset was breathtaking, then the gas lamps were lit. It's a truly beautiful dining experience. The food was equally wonderful as well as Inez's special drinks! Fantastic!!

Ate early evening. Setting is fantastic. Looking out over the Caribbean. All tables were inside the night we were there due to mosquitoes. They place bug chaser devices under table and bug spray on tables, so not to worry. Try to get a table near the outer edge for the view. One of the best meals(among many) that we had... More
