The BEST meal in Cozumel

This was absolutely the best meal we had while in Cozumel. It is a great little hole in the wall that is only a block or two off the main path and well worth the walk. It's simple food but delicious. I stayed with my father and brother and a couple of nights during the week we decided to go... read more

True Mexican tacos are pretty basic things: a tortilla, meat and (hopefully) onion, cilantro and some salsa. There isn’t a lot of variety and I roll my eyes a bit when someone claims to have found “the best” tacos in Cozumel. I think the atmosphere of the joint and the price also play a big role in the rating of... More

No big neon signs, billboards or flyers, just a little hanging sign and really awesome typical food. Deffinately a local's place with a wide selection of food on the menu. Try the pastor meat dishes (shaved pork). Super huge portions and reasonable prices. Dress in lightweight clothes, no AC. Owner is awesome and speaks good english.

We stopped in to have breakfast one morning not being able to speak Spanish and the waiter not speaking English made us wondering what it was that we were going to get for breakfast. I had asked for a ham and cheese omelet but a cheese omelet instead no big deal it was good regardless and the wife asked for... More

Phenomenal food and cheap. Atmosphere is underwhelming ...no bells and whistles. Came here for breakfast and was blown away by the taste! Coffee is good too.

This is a definite must eat in Cozumel! We loved everything we had here. We stopped in 3 times during our week scuba vacation. The staff is very friendly and the food is unique and delicious. It's not a fancy establishment but it is clean and extremely well priced (dinner for two was under $20-$25 dollars with drinks). This is... More

The owner here is keen to please but needs to pay more attention to his cook who smothers everything with cooking oil. All of our meals were swimming in the stuff on our plate. The restaurant is reasonably priced and clean if you want cheap eats. It was better than gettingh ripped off by the "free margaritas' restaurants closer to... More

This place hit the spot for a quick, cheap lunch. We had an assortment of tacos. all served with a two kinds of salsa, onions and chives. The al pastor and the skirt steak tacos were simple, inexpensive and delicious. They also have some taco plates which are interesting and original, served with 6 on a plate. We tried a... More

I was solo in Cozumel (wife sick on the cruise ship), and seeking out some authentic tacos. I asked several street vendors and found myself here at Tako Rock. I won't say that there's no tourist element to this place... it's clean, has comfortable tables and bilingual menus. It's not exactly rough "native" Mexican. On the other hand, you can... More

We caught a whiff as we drove by on a Sunday, late afternoon. The place is not fancy, but it is clean. You can watch the cook working from the side walk (behind a glass window). The marinera (seafood) tacos were awesome, the chef and waiters are very accommodating with special orders. Great service, cheapest taco was 10 pesos each.
