The food is decent and the atmosphere amazing, until you get the check. We were with several kids and so we asked if we could order a simple cheese quesadilla for them. This wasn't on the menu but we knew they had tortillas and cheese and so it would be simple. We should have made them agree on the price... More

We were sad to learn that Sabores was closed -- run by Dona Carmen, always a lovely place with excellent food at a reasonable price. Although we also discovered that Will (the manager/server) and Josua (the cook) from Sabores have opened Casa Cozumil --great food, reasonable prices and excellent service. Located upstairs at the old French Quarter building.

Nice beach, great staff, bars and restaurants everywhere, great food and drinks. And real close to the diving.

In 2012, our cruise stopped in Cozumel, and some expat friends took us to Sabores, their favorite neighborhood restaurant. It was the sort of place where you walk in the front door, through the living room and the kitchen, out the back door, to where they have 5 or 6 tables set up, with oilcloth tablecloths and overhead lanterns, and... If Sabores is now located in The French Quarter, then I found it! 60 pesos for unlimited tortilla chips and salsa, soup, and a main with rice, beans, and vegetables. A good selection of mains to choose from. The waiter was very attentive and patient when describing the food options and made sure our cups never ran dry. Full and... More

Sadly, Sabores has closed as a restaurant, but the cook and manager have moved down the street to the old French Quarter restaurant, which had closed. Will and Jose continue to offer local food at very low prices. Support them in their new venture!!!!

On our last day we discovered the nice restaurant with the shady garden and had a wonderful breakfast! It's a place you have to go!

While visiting the island of Cozumel, we really wanted to try authentic mexican food. All the restaurants on the main strip were very Americanized and expensive. My mom found this place while exploring the neighborhood streets. This place is a converted house into a restaurant. It looks nice from the outside and when you walk in and into the back... More

Family run and owned. You walk through their house to the back yard and are promptly waited on. For 6 to 8 dollars you get a full meal. Includes chips and salsa, soup, entree and jicama drink. They also have dail specials. My wife had pork wrapped in banana leaves and I had the chicken enchiladas (came with 4 enchiladas).... More
