My wife and I were looking for a nice place for an anniversary dinner while in Cozumel and we most certainly found it! From the wine and appetizers to the main course and dessert, this was absolutely wonderful! Th staff was very nice and helpful and owner Francesco delivered a dessert for us and stayed to speak with us for... More

This little gem is out of the way and not easy to find. We were told of it by locals and it did not disappoint! From the apps and the drinks, it was heaven on a plate!

First let me say our food was very good so don't get my review wrong. The staff was friendly and we felt the atmosphere was great. Loved the day of dead at the bar downstairs. I guess my disappointment for lack of a better word was for all the hype we read about them being from Rome and authentic i... More

I'm not a professional food critic, but would classify myself as a bit of a foodie and having lived in Italy for 2 years feel qualified to comment on New Especias. I've had difficulty finding authentic Italian food outside of Europe (save some trattorias in the NE USA) and wasn't expecting much in Coz. However, the meal at New Esp... More

This restaurant should be #1 on Trip Advisor. My husband and I ate here twice on our trip to Cozumel in April. My husband needs to eat gluten-free. The owner, Francesco, was very accommodating. Everything we tried was delicious. I highly recommend this restaurant!

As a full-blooded Italian who was raised in Boston, I can be a harsh critic of Italian food. Well, New Especias blew me out of the water. From the appetizers to the main course (there is no one on the island that cooks a better Leon fish) to dessert... every single person in our 8-person party walked away in agreement... More

Courteous waiters and awesome food. Close to town with a balcony to look at the sky and town. Love the food and will be back many more times.

I dined at New Especias on April 7th. As I was very low in cash I was looking for a place where I could use my credit card. The staff up front assured me I could use my Visa so I went upstairs for dinner. I found "Lionfish & Gnocchi" to be too interesting to pass out so I decided... More

Good Afternoon Sir, First of all my sincere apologizes. We had a lot of problems on April with a credit card machine, but now all already fixed. Actually there was a mistake on our part that we are solving as soon as possible! We work hard and in a honest way. Sorry again. At disposal for any clarification. Thank you.... More

The New Especias is a restaurant in a neighborhood full of good yo great places. The owner, a Roman, is a true Italian chef and a truly charming guy. The restaurant is on the second floor and it has a lovely balcony. I enjoyed the sangria although my wife thought it was weak and noted it had no fruit in... More
