Good tacos. I tried the tongue (lengua). There were definitely a lot of locals here. To do a great Cozumel taco walking tour (which we did for dinner one night), start at El Pique. Then walk to Chilangos. Try their horchata. Next walk to Los Otates. Finish with another taco at Sera's (although it was our least favorite of the... More

When we walked up to this place I was like really you want to eat here? My boyfriend had been here before and said it would be fine. The menu offers a few selections that made me think he was out of his mind but once we ordered the food was very good. We had beans for an appetizers and... More

The food was excellent and we came back for more. The kitchen looked clean and we didn't get sick from it. We asked for extra spicy sauce which was very hot but tasted great. This was the best Mexican food we found in Cozumel despite the plastic chairs and semi open restaurant. An owner of a dive company recommended it... More

We founded it just on the way to the city. We were really surprised, how perfect was it. Everything was sooo tasty. And the price for one meal was around 50 pesos. We highly recomend this place.

We were in Cozumel for a week in Dec and tried a number of taco restaurants. Los Otates was clearly the best. Great tacos and freshly made guacamole. Do not be put-off by the appearance of the restaurant, the tacos are really good.

Best tacos we have had the whole time in Mexico. The place is a little daunting at first. Basically a restaurant run from an open air shack. Plastic table and chairs and the cleanliness is probably a bit questionable. After someone recommending this place we decided to be brave and give it a go. The food was simple but brilliant.... Yummmmmm--- awesome tacos and guac! The prices are insanely good too-- we had chips & guac, two orders of tacos and a couple of beers and all of that was only 200 pesos. Definitely don't miss their tacos!

We never miss chance to eat at Los Otates when we are in Cozumel. They have the best tacos in town. Our favorites are the Gringas and Al Pastor tacos. The open air atmosphere is just great. Shorts and tee shirt are the typical dress. Don’t pass up the bean soup or Pozole. Free password protected WiFi doesn't hurt either.

Los Otates is close enough to walk from Avenida Rafael E. Melgar and it's worth every step. There's also on-street parking on Avenida 15. This is very casual open-air dining with the typical white plastic chairs and tables and TV in the background (although they do offer free Wi-Fi). The menu notes that many of the staff don't speak English,... More
