Los Otates was great. Loved their tacos so much we went back 3 times during our stay. Average dinner cost about 39 pesos (about $3.5) /person. Try the Horchata or Jamaica for a refreshing local drink. more

The Gringo restaurant scene gets old--fast--and overpriced! I was in Cozumel with my fiance and my mom, along with several other family members. My fiance and I were about the only ones seeking an "authentic" Mexican experience in Cozumel (since he used to live in Oaxaca). The others, not so much--they were frequenting Fat Tuesday, Margaritaville, Senor Frogs, etc. We... more

We finally got to Los Otates our fourth day on the island. I took the recommendation of my fellow tripadvisors and ordered the tacos el pasador and he ordered a asada burrito. Delicious!!! My husband and I had lunch and drinks for 7us! It was nice to finally eat some authentic mexican food instead of all the americanized mexican food... more

Los Otates has great burritos... Al Pastor the marinated pork is the best. Six of us had dinner for less than $30US. Fin the open air restaurant between 3rd street(calle) and Salas on 15 Ave. You can walk there from the square and have a great meal. more

My sister and I just returned from a trip to Cozumel for a week. We ate at Los Otates 2 times during our week stay. Both times the food was excellent and the service was outstanding. The restaurant wasn't very full either visit (our first meal....we were the only customers). Our first visit we each had the gringas. On our... more

Trip advisor is my favorite travel site because it rarely steers me in the wrong direction. We went a Carnival cruise in august and I knew that I wanted a more traditional taco place and not a torist trap. We went to Los Otates- a quick trip from the dock and it was great. We had only tacos, 9 of... more

This is the reason we came to this place. Tacos al pastor... google it if you don't know what they are. They are quick, tasty, and cheap! It was something less than 150 pesos for 9 tacos and a few beers. Cannot complain at all... so tasty! more

One of the first places we stopped at for dinner based on other reviews with no regrets. A small outdoor type restaurant with large variety. 5 of us order something different so we could all share, hard to find a favorite. I wish we had a local place like this. more

We went to Las Otates after asking locals for a good place with authentic food that's not covered by tourists. That's what we got. Don't be put off by the appearance -- it's an open-air restaurnt with no frills. The food was fresh, good and cheap---For about $40 US we had 2 servings of guacamole, 6 servings of tacos al... more

Some one told us to try Los Otates for real local cooking. It is a small open air tacoria. We truely enjoyed our chicken quesadillas and want back a second time. Four of us ate for just a little over $20 (US). more
