I ordered the fish Maya which had achiote sauce and it was super. My friend had arrechera and it was equally delicious. Prices were very reasonable considering the high quality of the food. Highly recommended.

The fish and pork tacos were both delicious, as well as the refried beans. The portions did not look that big but it was filling and the meal was incredibly cheap. The front desk of our hotel recommended it to us for lunch and we were very glad that they did.

I ordered guacamole. It might well be the best I've ever had. I ordered pork tacos. They ARE the best I've ever had. My daughter ordered the fish Candela, and loved it. She also ordered the fried bananas for 30 pesos that was SO WORTH IT! I've had fried bananas before, but these were ripe and carmelized perfectly. The limeade... More

My wife and I went to Cozumel on a cruise, for the first time, in January of 2014. We ended up not eating at the restaurant we had scouted out before hand. A local there walked us to La Candela. He said it was a little more expensive than some of the other places, but the food was really good.... More

Food excellent, staff "over the top" friendly. I have a mango margarita almost everywhere I go in Mexico and was by the far THE BEST....ask what the daily specials are and they will take you back and show you the choices!!!

I arrived in Cozumel looking forward to having my favorite La Choza meal - not having had one since last May. After getting off the plane, and finding my room at La Casa Nostra not available, my new friend Roberto suggested that La Candela was as good as La Choza. I learned the Chef at La Candela used to work... More

The nachos were delicious as were the fish tacos. The family run business makes this delicious orange coloured sauce for dipping your nachos in that is a bit spicy.

This was my favorite restaurant on the island. The fresh guacamole and salsa were amazing, the best on the island by far and the best I have ever had. The fajitas were also delicious, coming out steaming hot. Prices were very reasonable, 8-15 per person depending on how much you get but portions are very large. The restaurant is open... More

This is one of the better meals we have had in the area, we had the fajitas, good portions. The price was reasonable compared to everything else in the area. Aqua de Jamaica is always a refreshing drink. The frozen mango pie was bad, tasted like it came out of a box. Good service.

We couldn't decide between this or another place on our last day-we hated to pick between the two as they both were to be good this was open so we stopped. Amazing breakfast taste was fab and papaya juice delicious. Service was good And I would say this is a must for traditional mexican breakfast at decent price. They did... More
