Breakfast in the Neighbourhood

Here for breakfast in a quiet neighbourhood. Were lucky enough to take in a group practicing on the street for the Carnival parade. Breakfast and a show! Had the shrimp empanada and Huevos Motuleños. Both very tasty.

I have never had shark empanadas till now.Delicious OMG this food was so fresh. The fish sticks were mouth watering good The owner suggested the mayan preparation for the grouper, it was amazing. Grilled octopus, chili rellenos stuffed with seafood all delicious and some of the freshest fish we have ever tasted.

A little off the beaten path, but well worth it. There is also a fish market attached to the building, but we were too late to see it, and didn't have a chance to get back there.

We were recommended to visit La Perlit by our Beachouse host. This restaurant is easy to find. It's on the map, food was so delicious that we returned two more times! My husband order a lobster, he said it was heaven taste, mine was fish of the day- yummy! We also liked savishi, I very enjoyed octopus, I ordered another... More

Fresh, made to order seafood, authentic atmosphere, lots of locals, few tourists, free margarita if you're staying at Casita de Maya!

… got skunked. I have to admit that I was more than a little disappointed. I have been wanting to try Lionfish for over four years, ever since I learned how to scuba dive. These things are the fire ants of the Caribbean. Unlike fire ants, I have heard they are delicious. So, I was very excited to find a... More

A local restaurant away from the cruise ships and other tourists. Had a whole Fresh Snapper taken from a cooler and right to the grill. Tortilla chips are home made. Sol's are cold.

We headed to La Perlita based on recommendations from trip advisor and a diver - reliable sources if ever there were. It's really not that difficult to locate btw. The vibe was great, mellow, intimate and a little whimsical. The pico de gallo is the best I've had here, thanks to a brilliant touch of habanero, the mixed ceviche was... More

Food was so excellent. I had just a fried fish fillet the first visit and found it to be very tasty and fresh and a very nice portion size. The margaritas were very good as well, beer was good and cold. Someone had the grilled octopus in garlic, smelled wonderful and the bite I had was great!! If you are... More

This restaurant was recommended by one of the dive boat crew members. Not easily located by car, and probably easier to find with a taxi. Food was excellent, and the margaritas were good. My son and I had the seafood chile relleno and the mixed seafood platter. We had to take a doggie bag because there was too much to... More
