A Short Drive to No Where

Once you are done Diving for the week and need a day off before you fly, this is one of the most relaxing places on the island. Rent a car of Jeep and head East on Main Road (Carr Transversal) to the Windward side of the Island. Inexpensive, Great beach, and good times are always at Mexcalito's.

we make the trip from Playa to Coz every year. rent a jeep and drive aroound the island. Last stop is always Mezcalito's right at the north east part of the island, looks like something out of Gilligan's island. dirt floors, no electricity, but strong drinks, great food and even better view.

We’ve stopped at Mezzcalito’s in the past for drinks while “visiting” the east side of the island. This time during our stop we had the chicken fajitas, which were pretty good – although I think we’ve had better on the island. The service is attentive and pleasant. The best thing about this spot is without a doubt, the view. The... More

Food is good. Drinks are great. The staff is nice enough and the atmosphere is really relaxed. Bathroom is scary but that's kind of a given on that side of the island. I'd go back for a drink and snack. I would probably sit out on the beach as the inside feels kind of dark.

This restaurant was recommended to us by a friend and we planned to go there. My wife and I , however, were with 2 teenaged girls who were hungry and wanted to stop at Coconuts as we reached it first. So we stopped and went into the Coconuts which looked very cool but was crowded and there was going to... More

Every time we come to Cozumel, we stop at Mezcaltios for a drink and salsa, chips and guacamole, this was out tenth time to Cozumel. There was a time when the chips and salsa were complimentary. Those days are gone when the cruise ship traffic increased. The food is ok now, nothing great. The margaritas are strong (need to be... More

Good tacos, guac and salsa. Sat right on the beach with my toes in the sand while eating dinner. The connecting beach is quiet - we were the only ones enjoying it that afternoon.

While out exploring the island we came across this place and decided to stop for lunch. This is how I imagined a bar on a Mexican beach to be like. Like an oasis in the middle of nowhere. The beer was cold the food was good and the scenery was fantastic.

This was an awesome stop as we explored the island. Out by itself with just a bar, table & chairs and my favorite.....THE HAMMOCKS. Just drinking a cocktail and listening to the waves. Just a true escape. I'm going back!!!
