Friendly, great Mayan style food, very reasonable, worth the extra effort to find the place. The best margarita on the island

Went to El Moro @ 15 years ago and have returned several times since. The food is awesome and authentic, with lots of choices. The other night I had the roast pork Yucatan style, in a piquant (but not hot), flavorful sauce with grilled onions. (I'm salivating as I write this). Good margaritas. Reasonable prices, attentive service. Warm atmosphere. Plenty... More

After a full day of excursions we told the driver we wanted to go to El Moro's based on the reviews and we were certainly not disappointed. We could not have asked for better service or better food and they truly did treat us like good friends or family. The margaritas were excellent, we had the lobster and shrimp on... More

All of the reviews that say the food at El Moro is the best are true but only a small part of the dining experience. This is an amazing place and when you look around at the employees it is easy to see the generations of family who are all doing their job to make it the best. When visiting... More

We've been going to El Moro for years and it continues to be one of the best restaurants on the island. With an extensive menu it has some of the most delicious local food. It's a little out of the way but well worth your trip.

Finding El Moro the first time is a little tricky, but you will want to go back again! A family owned restaurant in a local neighborhood, but the food and hospitality are the best!

This was the best restaurant in Cozumel! Four of us from NYC who work in restaurants thought this was the best meal of the trip. The owner is the server and that most passionate and personable we met on the trip to Mexico. Ask to see his magic tricks... go here!!!!

You can't beat having dinner with Ray and the family. They all are wonderful and smiles. For me personally it is the best mole on the island. It is a little hard to find back in town, but well worth it and every taxi knows the way!! Tell Ray that Jefe sent you!

We were in Cozumel for the day on the cruise ship Carnival Dream and wanted to have as authentic Mexican food as possible. I bit off the beaten path as expected but well worth it. We took a taxi from the port which was $8 for the four of us each way. (about 8 minutes) We ordered various appetizers and... More
