1st Night on the Island and we WILL be back this week!!!

Waiter was very friendly and helpful but we didn't get his name. He spoke excellent english and offered suggestions for entrees which we accepted. The chicken skewer was excellent with rice and black bean sauce. My shrimp meal was outstanding but I have no idea what it was called. The Margaritas... read more

Ray makes you feel like family when you visit El Moro. The food is extraordinary and I encourage you to explore the menu because everything is delicious. I've gone with Ray's recommendations and have not been disappointed. (Believe him when he says the habanero that comes with the chips is hot!) The Lime Soup is the best I've ever had.... More

The most memorable aspects is the passion the family has for their restaurant. Our server couldn't stop telling us about the food and with such passion. Had the seafood platter to share and it was excellent. Get in a taxi, ask for El Moro, you won't be disappointed.

We came here for dinner because we read about the place in many places online. The food was excellent and the service was great and inviting. Would recommend it to anyone wanting to have a great meal for a more then reasonable price !

We had a hard time looking for El Moro on our rental bike (I believe the avenue turned out to be not 80 but 75 bis) but were very happy to find it open on Sunday at 4 pm. Our drinks were "aguas frescas" made with watermelon and papaya; the food - my grilled fish and my husband's Yucatecan pork... More

OMG. This local little "hole-in-the-wall" (said with great affection) was everything I hoped for, and more. We have been on-island a month, and El Moro easily competes with the "better" restaurants we have eaten at, as least as far as the food is concerned. The decor is quaint, local, and retro --- so don't be intimidated by the decor or... More

Ray and everyone else at El Moro always make sure you enjoy your experience! The food is always amazing! Best pico and guacamole! Our group usually has the giant seafood platter....fish Veracruz, grilled shrimp, conch, fried shrimp....and more! YUM!!! The fajitas are great. My husband says they have the best mole on the island! Yes, it's hot....but that's Mexico! They... More

Family-owned and run. They make you feel that you are family, too. And, the food is amazing. Unhappy with the heat? Remember, you came to an island at 20 degrees north latitude. What did you expect?

Ray and his family have been operating this place for almost 30 years, they are all there everyday and treat each customer like a member of the family. I would highly recommend this place to anyone going to Cozumel.

We ate there last week while visiting and had a great time with some good food...............but the temperature in the restaurant was stifling.............You couldn't enjoy the food because there was no air moving at all and just made everyone ready to eat and get out of there..........they need to install some fans or something to try and beat the heat.
