We have eaten at this wonderful family owned and operated restaurant at least 20 times over the years. We go there at least once even if we are staying in an all-inclusive resort, more when not. The neighborhood is typical poor Mexican but your taxi will let you out at the door, so don't worry. Once you enter it is... More

Well worth the taxi ride and the questionable neighborhood. I think it is safe enough. The food is incredible and the atmosphere perfect. Take the address with you and give it to the taxi driver. My first driver could not find it.

We hit the trifecta: service, hospitality and food quality. Finding El Moro was one of our best travel experiences in 15 years of visiting Cozumel. We can't believe we didn't find it sooner! When you read the reviews of this restaurant, it's hard to imagine it's real, but we experienced it and it is. The food is outstanding, and the... More

After reading the reviews on Trip Advisor we went searching for El Moro & I'm so pleased we did. The only disappointment was that we just wanted a beer & a snack. El Moro's surrounds are not all that inspiring but once inside the staff are wonderfully friendly, the food is great & everything is spotlessly clean. I highly recommend... More

Probably the most authentic meal we had while in Cozumel. Its a bit out of town so you will need to take a taxi if you do not have a car. If you roll up in a car...a bunch of small children are going to want to open your car doors for you....in hopes of a tip. Give them one....the... More

This place lives up to its awesome reviews. I had lunch there on Friday at about 2pm. I was the ONLY customer. I got to walk around the place and check out the photos of past guests including actors Steve Buschemi and a very young Gary Busey. The place is as orange and rustic, homey and unpretentious as reviewed. The... More

This little gem is located away from the tourist fill main street. It was recommended by our drive trip leader who had been here on previous trips. The family/staff running the restaurant were all very friendly and the food was all very good. True Mexican flavors and not the tex-mex you get in the US. The is not a fancy... More

I noticed that some of the reviews here talked about this awesome waiter named Ray. Yeah, he was easy to pick out. He excitedly helped each one of us pick something out on the menu to suit our tastes. The portions were huge and inexpensive. At the end of the night Ray took this "selfie" with us. This service can't... More

This restaurant was recommended by a fellow traveler. I'm glad we took him up on the place. Like most of the better places to eat in CZM, this place is literally dug out from between a rock and a hard place. Great, friendly service with that quaint CZM ambiance. Plenty of smiles and cold drinks. This will be a have... More
