We were in Cozumel for the day on the cruise ship Carnival Dream and wanted to have as authentic Mexican food as possible. I bit off the beaten path as expected but well worth it. We took a taxi from the port which was $8 for the four of us each way. (about 8 minutes) We ordered various appetizers and... More

Food was excellent, as were the Margaritas. The owner attentive & smiley. It's hard to find at first, but worth the effort.

El Moro is hard to find by walking but the trip is worth it. The owner and staff are extremely helpful and accommodating. My wife and I had a very good tastey lunch and the pico de gallo have been the best we have found on Cozumel. NOTE: El Moro is closed on Thursday''s. Otherwise they open at 1:00 p.m.... More

A taxi driver our friends knew took four of us to El Moro in the neighborhood in San Miguel(Cozumel, MX). Four wonderful meals--Enchiladas, shrimp dishes and my favorite, chicken mole'. The food was fresh, authentic and the portions healthy. The taxi driver wanted to wait for us while we ate. The ambiance is simple and a bit rustic, but oh,... More

We were all so pleased with our meals. This is what Mexican food on Cozumel should be! From the wonderful flavors, to the wonderful neighbor it is located in. We will be returning!

An extensive, varied, and inexpensive menu. Seafood, chicken, beef or pork, I've never had a bad meal here. It appears to be a secret known to locals and divers. Variety of beers and a full bar.

A friend took me to this restaurant and said, "try the dish with four chicken tamales covered in mole (a thick dark chili sauce)." It was excellent and inexpensive. I normally only drink water, but was convinced to order the watermelon or pineapple drink. I ordered one and sipped the other. Both were very good. Neighborhood restaurant ... no need... More

We arrived to this restaurant (which is not in the tourist area) after reading the reviews here and it was an excellent night... Rey welcomed us when we just entered the restaurant and continued with the warm service until the end when we needed a cab. The food was great! You get nachos to fill your stomach while you decide...
