We didn't like the "commercial" places on the ocean front street that catered to fanny pack Americans, so we asked our hotel for some recommendations for more local style seafood. We were told La Choza was a good option for "homestyle cooking" and we were very happy with the recommendation. The food was plentiful and the service was very good.... More

Stopped in Cozumel on a Disney cruise and spent 4 hours snorkeling the reefs. Our guide recommended La Choza, and overall we were pleased with our meal. My husband's order of guacamole ($6.95) and fajitas ($10.95) were wonderful; however, I ordered cerviche (9.95) and thought the fish had "overcooked". Guessing it had been made a day or two earlier and... More

kid friendly, plentiful portions for the price. Caters to American tourists, although dishes can be adjusted if you spend some time with the wait staff.

We have dined here several times on various visits to the island and recently returned. The setting was okay, more like a kitchen than a garden dining room compared to other places we visited. We had tasty frozen drinks to start and complimentary guacamole, pico and chips to start which were very good and appreciated. Soup came with the meal... More

This restaurant was recommended to us by the bell boy (not really a boy!) at the hotel we were staying at. When asked where he would go to eat, he looked at us and said 'you want fast food or good food?'. When we asked what the difference was he said fast food to locals is tacos and burritos. We... More

I've been eating here every time I come to Cozumel for twenty years. Nacho is still waiting tables and always with a smile on his face. I love the skirt steak the chips and dipping sauce. Their pico de Gallo is always fresh. Can't beat their margaritas. Ate there at least twice in my ten day dive trip.

The mole is a good choice, and the place is a Cozumel staple, but it's not a place you'll return to numerous times. If you like mole, give it a shot.

Love this place. Always our first meal when we arrive - and always our last before leaving - with many visits in between. Best fajitas on the island. Service is always fast & friendly. Great place!! To avoid the crowds, we usually go a bit early.
