Yucatan recipe yielded delicious chicken!

Our waiter suggested I try the chicken, a house specialty. Crazy tender & delicious! Lime soup was also quite good. Huachinango filet tasted a bit fishy. Service was impeccable and quite friendly.

Great local restaurant. Fresh guac is chunky, authentic Rita's, shrimp fajitas over the top and this family owned place has great service!

It was recommended we go here for lunch and it was perfect! The food was amazing and the margaritas were wonderful! We got there a little early but were very hot from walking around and they moved a floor fan to hit our table. We had the fajitas which were delicious. This is definitely on our musts the next time... More

This place has great, authentic Mexican food like many others, but the salsa is what really makes it special. It's this yellow-orange looking smooth salsa (not chunky), and when you look at it for the first time, you think it's cheese sauce, but it's not at all. It is tangy, and a little bit spicy, and just so delicious. I've... More

La Choza is always a must when we visit Cozumel. The interior of the restaurant is lovely and very relaxing. The waiters are attentive and friendly. They serve chips and two dips (spicy cheese and a guacamole-type) while you wait on your meal. I ordered lime soup and chicken kabobs, which was delicious, and a very generous serving. I ordered... La Choza is a few blocks off the main drag and may appear at first glance to be a hole in the wall but it is not. Great food, low prices, lots of locals and tourists eating and having a blast with mariachi singers to boot. Food was very tasty and service was prompt. Free parking for up to one... More

Full disclosure: this was our first stop after a long-delayed flight into Cancun, a transfer to Playa, and a ferry to Cozumel. The main thing we were looking forward to were cocktails at this point. Disappointment #1 was learning they, and the Island, were dry that night because of elections or something. Ok, not their fault. Disappointment #2 immediately followed... More

I have eaten at La Choza as long as I've been going to Cozumel. I wouldnt miss it for anything. This time we had Shrimp and Chicken kabobs, with vegetables and rice. For an appetizer they offer lime soup or noodles. We had the lime soup and it was very tasty. The kabobs were fantastic. My girlfriend ordered flan for... More

We've been to Cozumel several times and were looking for someplace new to try for dinner. With a large number of reviews for La Choza and a good score, we decided to give it a try. The service was very good; atmosphere was nice and prices were reasonable; but food was just average compared to the many other places we've... More

On a cruise to Cozumel we decided to go for local fare off of the ship and chose La Choza "The Shack" in San Miguel. The restaurant is two blocks off of the waterfront on a quiet street. Free chips and a special homemade dipping sauce were very good. We bought a bottle of the sauce to take home. I... More
