The new location is very clean and airy....picks up the tradewinds very well with the venturi design....stays cool even on the hot days. Yucatan style food is where this restaurant excels...all the dishes use the freshest of ingredients (none of the powdered spices here) and you are in for a treat with any of the dishes. The quacamole and Pico... more

I was crestfallen when the woman behind the counter in Prodive told me that La Choza burned down. You see it was once across the street from Prodive. She went ito a diatribe on how it burned down until her co-worker smacked her on the shoulder and told me to walk down the street a block and turn right for... more

Make a stop here at La Choza. You will not regret it. We stayed at an all inclusive...and craved "real" mexican food. So we were told to go to La Choza. We ordered: Guacamole and chips A noodle type soup...and a corn soup Veracruz Shrimp Chicken Fajitas Giant delicious margaritas - generous with the tequila too. Flan ALL of the... more

La Choza is sort of an institution in San Miquel. It has been around for as long as I've been going there, which is about 20 years. It burned down a couple of years ago but has rebuilt. It is an open air place with a great palm 'Palapa' roof. While it is often crowded, it rarely takes long to... more

I do miss the "old" La Choza even though most diners and probably the owners don't. The food is as good as always and even with my professional bartending skills of over 30 years, I cannot produce a tastier margarita. I never noticed the noise or ambiance issues noted by a couple other reviewers, because we were the ones having... more

We are very frequent travelers to Cozumel and La Choza is always a stop for us, many trips we are there 3 or 4 times during the week. This place has the BEST MARGARITAS on the island and we know we tried many places. Try the green sauce with your chips, unfortunately it is only served in the evening. All... more

A local recommended to my fiancee and I to eat at La Choza. This is an open-air restaurant with well-spaced tables under a tall thatched roof. We sat in a corner table, near the rear garden. Very romantic area. The food was outstanding, to the point that we went back the next night for more. Our meal started with great... more

A huge overlit bleak stark space, with bored Mariachi players after tips, and some half decent Mexican food. That's it apart from good service, which didn't make up for it. more

La Choza was recommended to us by the Aura hotel staff. Do not be afraid to order the "lime soup" is is to die for! Basically, a chicken veggie soup with just a tang of lime. We both ordered shrimp and beef fajitas and found them to be delicious. Also, the queso sauce that is served with the chips is... more

We had a good dinner at La Choza. As noted by others, the room is large and open, and even though not filled on our visit, was just a bit noisy. Service was prompt and efficient, but nothing special. Margaritas were large and tasty Veracruz Fish (red snapper) was tender and flavorful served with grilled onions, tomatoes and green peppers.... more
