Authentic Mexican Food

Found this gem on our last night on the island. Boy do we wish we found it before. The food was excellent, sizes very large for the price, and service was spot on. You MUST try the mango margarita! Make sure to get the XXL This will be the first place we go to next time we visit.

Located just off the main square in Cozumel we thought this would be just a tourist joint but its managed to keep its authentic mexican identity. We were warmly greated and shown to a free table outside which is great for people watching. We were brought some nachos and salsa to go with our ice cold beers as we decided... More

Casa Denis serves up something called chamorro pibil. It's a cross between your conventional Yucatean conchinita pibil and a Bavarian schweinshaxen. And it is quite possibly the greatest pork dish invented by mankind. And that's really all that needs to be said about this place. Though if you're looking for non-pork, the snapper smothered in shrimp sauce was very good... More

It is a little 'hole in the wall' restaurant that has been around for decades and the food is excellent. The waiters are older gentlemen with great service, seasoned enough to know how to make you feel at home. Very attentive. The Menu is loaded with their native creations and so tasty. They have tables set up outside the restaurant... More

The first time we ate at Casa Denis was 1993, on our honeymoon. There were about eight tables and three or four people working there. But the food was authentic and wonderful. We visited again in 2010. It had expanded, it had been "discovered" and it was hopping. But the food and service were still wonderful. Our only complaint: our... More

Not all that touristy yet offers lots of different selections from the Yucatan. Reasonably priced for freshly cooked dishes with adequate and attentive service.

We celebrated my husband's birthday here. Such good food, friendly service, great location! We had fajitas and quasadillias, beer and margarita. A great visit!

My husband & I dined here last week while in Cozumel. We had walked by this restaurant several times and decided to give it a try. They have patio sitting which is great for people watching. We were given free chips and salsa for an appetizer. We both ordered the fish filet with a creamy shrimp sauce which was very... More

What great meals and good times. The server Baltazar is great fun. The margaritas are delicious and strong. I had several meals here. The spinach soup, lime soup, traditional Yucatani pork sausage, fish with spinach sauce, all fantastic. The coconut ice cream with kahlua was great as well. There is the dining area in the front and a quaint patio... More
