I found this restaurant to have good menu options and excellent, speedy service. Prices are a little higher than average, but given that it is located right in Chichen Itza, it is somewhat understandable.

nicely laid out inside the hotel (which is also quite nice). one of the more pricey options in the area. interesting and good but nothing more than that. we had a situation where they mixed up the orders but were very reluctant and slow to acknowledge that. a bit of an attitude issue which also goes for the hotel -... I just love the Mayaland, but have unfortunately never stayed there. My honey and I visited 30 years ago, and being cheap kids, we felt as though we would never belong in such a gorgeous hotel. This time I was lucky enough to eat there and our group had an event on the grounds. What a lovely, lovely place. The... More

I have not stayed in the hotel but the hotel appears modern and the site backs up to Chichen Itza. But I have eaten there several times and food is plentiful and good with enough local offerings to make it interesting. Get there early for best selection as it can get hectic when the tour buses come through.

The buffet overall was just okay, but the Mayan food in particular was fantastic. My advice: skip all the typical stuff and head straight to the Mexican. In particular, ladies make handmade corn tortillas in front of you on an open hearth, and they will make chicken and pork tacos for you at their booth. These are some of the... More

I did a tour and part of it was lunch at the restaurant. OMG it was the best food I have had in a long time. Others chose the buffet and said it was okay. If you have the option to choose pick the restaurant. It is authentic and very good. You get more then enough to eat and the... More

I can only speak for the Mayaland buffet, as we stopped there for lunch on our trip to Chichen Itza. It was really... unimpressive at best. I am a vegetarian and the options were few and far between, in contrast to the buffet back at our own hotel, Sandos Caracol resort and spa, which was fantastic. I also thought it... More

We took an amazing tour of Chichen Itza on 5/22/13 & with the tour came a 5 course meal at the restaurant inside of Mayaland. Although we did not sleep at the hotel, I can assure you the food & drinks at the restaurant were excellent! I am so sorry I didn't get the main waiters name, but he was... More

While visiting the Chitzen Itza ruins our tour included a lunch buffet at the Mayaland buffet restaurant. There was a great variety of food to choose from at different locations throughout the restaurant. Weather you were vegetarian or just wanted a Mexican food experience there was enough choices for everyone in our group. This included a station where a lady... More
