I promised the chef I would write I have been here before and was impressed, but was more impressed this time! Not only is the staff very friendly, not much English but the chef understands completely. The sushi here is very very fresh. I give this restaurant five out of five stars. I stayed at the Fiesta Americana Coral Beach... More

So, that's clearing a low bar. There's not much of a view (the restaurant currently overlooks a construction site), but the decor isn't bad and the food is reasonable for Japanese food made in a place with few Japanese people. The service is very attentive without being pushy. If you want a light meal for under $25, this is a... More

We found this restaurant from one of the travel guide books and it was a great pick. Food is so delicious! You can tell this is the old restaurant from its interior but we kinda liked it. That made me feel that it has long history and tradition.

If your traveling from Japan I would recommend trying somewhere else. :( The food is double the price with half the taste than in Japan. Staff were very attentive, friendly and always had a smile.

We went to Hanaichi after reading all the recommendations on the TripAdvisor and Fodor's, with the latter claiming that the restaurant "has some of the best sushi in Cancún, and is frequented by Mexico's best chefs." The location is indeed unimpressive, a veritable hole in the wall. The interior design is very average. The service is good though, polite and... More

What an experience!! The chefs Gama and Pablo are creative and can serve you experiences in sushi like in Japan (sitting at the sushi bar). Ask for Chiles Toreados (spicy sauce) to go with your Nigiris, cones, rolls etc Nigiri of caracol, of prepared clam, of salmon, of Albacore...endless

I stayed nearby and walked to this restaurant 4 nights out of the 7 of my stay. Definitely some of the best Japanese food I've ever had. It's a small location but the service is fast, and the food is absolutely delicious. The prices were very reasonable for the quality of food. I'll be coming back here soon!

Walked past this tiny restaurant in an alley off the main pathway several times enroute to my hotel in Cancun. My curiosity finally got the best of me and I tried it. I sat on the main counter and was pleasantly surprised! I had a sashimi set plus extra Unagi and it was as good as any Japanese restaurant I... More

We were walking along and saw this restaurant. Who would have thought we could find a Japanese restaurant in Mexico. We thought this cannot be good. But the more we looked at it, the more our curiosity drew us in. We were pleasantly surprised as the food started arriving. It was all very fresh and tasted fantastic. I will admit,... More
