El Mortero was the perfect restaurant to kick off our Mexican getaway and set the tone for our vacation. It is a little pricey but worth every penny as the service was Superb from beginning to end. In pictures, I found the decor to be a tad "tacky" because of all the colors but I was wrong. The décor is... More

We made this choice to go to a Mexican restaurant, but Hacienda El Mortero not boast the name of Mexico. Regular food and very bad service, no manners and the waiter was coughing several times over my wife and then over my shoulder, and at no time was pushed aside and not uses his arm to cough. El Mariachi moderately... More

If you are unhappy with the food at the resort you are staying at, or just plain sick of what the resort is serving and you'd like to taste a flavor of Mexico, I would suggest going to Hacienda El Mortero. Yes, it is on the pricey($$) side, but the food in general is just so good. the Margaritas are... More

We had visited el Mortero many times over the years. After this visit, we will not be back. The food was average, a little pricey and the service was terrible. We were put into a back corner table, had to wait for the server to take our order, he left in the middle to go do something else and had... More

at my last visit to cancun I had dinner at El Mortero, the stakes were out of this world good taste and cook to perfection , the service was excellent and the staff was very attentive, the drinks were very good and the beer was nice and cold. I'll go again in a blink of an eye, I recommended.

Overpriced inauthentic food with bad service. The food was bland and uninspiring, honestly one of the worst meals I've ever had. 2 of our party ordered fajitas and were given 5 tortillas between them. Had to ask 3 times for the bill. Avoid

Amazing! The food is exquisite. You could tell that the management handpicked all items that were displayed on the menu with care and refined palate. The best food we had on vacation. And the service is quick, courteous and fast. Must eat place!
