Excellent food and service !

Such great authentic food. Everything was so good, the margaritas were amazing. Try the portabello mushroom appetizer and the filet mignon

Ate here as part of the all-inclusive plan from a hotel. The service is great, however the food is not high end Mexican as they advertise. However if your staying at the Krystal Hotel, this is the best meal they offer.

Attentive staff and delicious Mexican food. I recomend to try their Margaritas. They come in a very big glass and are delicious... One should be enough for the average drinker. We enjoyed their Mariachi music. Cons: My husband gave a $20 US dollar tip to the Mariachi band to play a few songs for me and they only played one... More

El Montero is a gem in the heart of the touristy 'Times Square' of Cancun. The atmosphere is relaxing, the service is top notch, and the food is great! The best part of our All-inclusive food package at the Krystal Resort was the El Montero restaurant just down the street. It had the 'best' Mexican food we ever ate. Also,... More

The warmth and old time feel of this restaurant made you just sit back and enjoy your Margarita! Food was great. One couple ordered the fajitas and they were served on top of a clay pig. Great location too if you want to hit a couple of the bars downtown or just stroll the area and people watch!

We loved our dinner here. Great food and nice decor. Tip; the Mariachi Band is loud so if you don't like that then go elsewhere. It really wasn't a problem for us as they didn't play long and didn't come to our table. It was a nice touch of Mexico!

This is a great restaurant with a great mariachi band. The food, service and the drinks were excellent and plentiful. This was one of the best meals we had in Cancun and we would recommend it and return.
