Delicious and a Deal!

For great Mexican food at a reasonable price, go to Calypso in Cancun. Super margaritas and fish tacos. Loved it so much, I ate here twice.

It is the best bargain in town! Great food and margaritas! Off the beaten path, but really fun and authentic.

We had a great evening jumping on the public bus at the Casa Magna Hotel and getting off at the Convention Center to find Calypso's behind the building in a courtyard. We had a wonderful grilled snapper with a special diablo sauce and shrimp quesadillas with creamy white cheese, plump perfectly cooked shrimp and guacamole. The food was delicious but... More

Found this restaurant on trip advisor and so happy we went! We visit Cancun nearly on an annual basis and search out local cuisine. Felipe, the owner is a great guy and provided us some of the best food we have ever had in Cancun.

This little place is tucked just behind the main drag of shops and bars in the north Hotel Zone. My husband and I found it from my reading reviews here and are so glad we did! It was one of our best evenings out while in Cancun for Spring Break with 2 teens in March 2015. Felipe was immediately warm... More

Calypso is a small, unassuming restaurant that delivers well made local food. Quesadillas are excellent, filet of fish al diablo is wonderfully spicy and the sopa de tortilla hits the spot. Atmosphere is quite comfortable and Filepe the host is friendly and engaging. Price/value is excellent for the Cancun hotel zone. Highly recommended.

Went here for dinner. Small friendly place. Prices are reasonable but not a bargain. Seafood was fresh but they over sauced the hell out of it. Maybe ask for just a little sauce on the dish and the rest on the side

We ended up eating a few meals here and were not disappointed at all with any of them. Our favorite thing was the crab claws. We each had an order and a guacamole appetizer. It was perfect! We also had the lobster and shrimp on another visit and that was also terrific. It is a simple outdoor bar that was... More

My husband, family, and friends and acquaintances have been enjoying Calypso's since 2005. I have NEVER had a bad experience or complaint about the food or beverages from anyone. This is a sweet spot-a place that welcomes everyone, and has the best, freshest seafood, for the best prices, in the hotel zone. In addition, the funky ambiance, and supremely welcoming attitude...
