Love this place

This place is a cool little hole in the wall that has the best shrimp ceviché tostadas and carne asada tacos. Food is prices are affordable. It is a cash only bar and grill. The owner Phillipé is awesome and so sweet. And he offers great hospitality. I've been to Cancun twice with 2 different... read more

At the time of my visit, Trip Adviser ranked this local restaurant as 87 out of 673. We were excited to sample the local cuisine because we thought mexican food in Mexico should be an authentic experience. However we forgot to take into account that this doesn't apply when we're in a heavy tourist area. As we approached Calypso, the... More

It's an easy place to eat if you go in the early evening and don't want to spend a lot of money. Not gourmet by any means, but decent.

We came here after reading all the positive review on TA, but to our disappointment the seafood was not even fresh, it was tasteless and overpriced! Now I start to question the credibility of this page with 500+ reviews and a really good score

We found this place on TA and would likely have never found it, or looked for it otherwise as its kinds of tucked away..but its well worth the visit in the Cancun zone. Nice cold beers, nice larger shrimp tacos's and a bunch of other great choices which our family sampled.

For great Mexican food at a reasonable price, go to Calypso in Cancun. Super margaritas and fish tacos. Loved it so much, I ate here twice.

It is the best bargain in town! Great food and margaritas! Off the beaten path, but really fun and authentic.

We had a great evening jumping on the public bus at the Casa Magna Hotel and getting off at the Convention Center to find Calypso's behind the building in a courtyard. We had a wonderful grilled snapper with a special diablo sauce and shrimp quesadillas with creamy white cheese, plump perfectly cooked shrimp and guacamole. The food was delicious but... More

Found this restaurant on trip advisor and so happy we went! We visit Cancun nearly on an annual basis and search out local cuisine. Felipe, the owner is a great guy and provided us some of the best food we have ever had in Cancun.

This little place is tucked just behind the main drag of shops and bars in the north Hotel Zone. My husband and I found it from my reading reviews here and are so glad we did! It was one of our best evenings out while in Cancun for Spring Break with 2 teens in March 2015. Felipe was immediately warm... More
