I had been tempted by the high rating and convinced by the fact that Mexican people were dining there. The food was delicious and the service the most charming.

We found this little hidden gem on Trip Advisor. If you want a good price and a great meal where the locals eat this restaurant is a must. The hotel zone has become very commercialized and expensive so this was a wonderful treat to venture into downtown. Take the R1 or R2 bus and get off by city hall. The... More

We arrived in Cancun late in the day and after checking into our hotel, ventured out into downtown Cancun for dinner. We asked another restaurantaur where Pik Nik was located, and he very kindly took us there. Pik Nik is an outdoor street cafe and it was packed, and when the owner and chef noticed us unable to find a... More

Staff keep pouncing on passers by instead of serving the clients are already there, chipped plates and music way too loud. The food is not that special. Do not bother.

I can't recommend this place highly enough. Based on other reviews we decided to take a cab ride into town to eat here. The cab driver kept asking us which concierge told us to go there - I don't think he expected Gringos to eat at a local place and he wasn't sure exactly what little (pedestrians only) street it... A quick bus ride from the hotel zone, and your transported to a beautiful area with great typical Cancun restaurants. We definitely did not want the commercialized restaurants, and this place was everything we wanted. The food was delish, and my fish was cooked just right. The owner was extremely friendly, and it was a great place to people watch.

Not only was the food amazing but our servers and the owner, Luis, are amazing people. We got there right as they were closing up shop and even though they were putting tables away and closing the restaurant, Luis set up a table for us took our order and gave us great service and meal. I myself had 3 tacos... More

Took a 40 min bus ride from the hotel zone. Read all the reviews and had to try it. The food was decent and no wow factor. The price is about right for food outside the hotel zone. Had to try it once but won't go back.
