This is a fun restaurant to try with a large group. Service is good but it isn't open every night. You want a nice night as right on ocean and can be cool if too windy. You cook your own food and all cuts of meat people tried were tender. Nice variety of foods. Portions small so Ned to eat... More

We were staying at the Westin on the all-inclusive plan. The "cook your own meal" thing was kinda fun, but didn't add a whole lot to the experience for me. The food wasn't any better than if they'd just cooked it for me, or any of the other food at the resort (which is probably the same food, really). The... More

We really enjoyed the first part of our dinner. I got the BBQ ribs and my wife got the stone cooked grouper. The food came quickly and the wait staff were attentive at first. My wife said the grouper tasted excellent but the portions were small. The stone cooled too quickly so my wife couldn't cook her vegetables. My ribs... More

A fun restaurant at the Westin in Cancun. Right on the beach and quite reasonable with 20 % off for being members of the Raintree Club Regina right next door. Food is not just spectacular, but very good and it is fun to cook your own meat or fish on your own little hot stone. We did not try the... More

Let me preface this with saying we are NOT picky eaters. We typically are pleased with whatever/wherever we go. The idea of this place sounded fun - eat by the ocean, hot stone cooking, romantic setting. We were very unhappy with this meal. first, the weather was terribly cold (not their fault) but it would have been nice if they... More

This is a take on a Korean BBQ, done Mexican-style. You cook your meat on the hot stone they provide. The vegetables and salad bar were fine. We had the last seating of the evening, so the staff were willing to allow us to have as many trips to the salad bar/desert bar as we wanted, and essentially gave away... More

This restaurant has a gimmick... The Westin Resort website states "Sea & Stones" offers a truly unique experience: meals custom-cooked on hot stones". What it fails to mention is you are the one cooking your own dinner. Imagine, a restaurant with a chef who does not have to cook? Why would anyone want to pay this kind of money for... More

Sea & Stones is on the beach at the Westin Resort. It has only a few, widely spaced tables in a Mayan-type open-side thatched building. The menu is limited to eight entrees, half seafood, half meats, with soup or salad bar options, and fruit or petit fours for dessert. The entrees are partly pre-cooked, and you cook it to your... My wife and I had dinner here twice during our stay at the Westin. It is a neat experience where you cook your own food on a hot stone. The food was excellent and the service was very good. Make sure you keep the paper bib on that they provide as there is some residual splatter from the cooking.
