A very nice Belgian beer topped off a very good meal. Tuna and scallop carpacio was very well prepared. Fresh bread is served with an unusual parsley sauce that tastes of avocado but has none. Duck was tasty but a bit overdone.Overall excellent value. more

I've been to Cancun 9 times but last December was the first time we ate at La Palapa Belga, after I found a reference for it here on Trip Advisor. My wife and I found it offers well above average food with prices that were moderate for the quality. Cancun has only a handfull of expensive restaurants with great food.... more

Very overrated on tripadvisor in my mind... big portions, would've been better if we shared them. I wouldn't recommend it though. You walk through a pretty crappy hotel to get to the restaurant, though the view is quite nice with all of cancun's lights with none of it's sound. Not much for vegetarians, though I wouldn't plan to go there... more

The food is not great here but above average. The real reason to come here is the romantic setting that cannot be beat. I would suggest coming on a warm night and early in your trip. Puerta Madera will make the food here seem inadequate by comparison if you go to Puerta first. Go to John Grays in old Cancun... more

I came to Cancun for a short trip with friends from England. It was the wife's birthday and we decided to go close to our hotel at the Presidente International Hotel. Just a short walk across the street and around the longer block to the lagoon was the Hotel as described (I think it was Riviera Lagoona--past the first small... more

We found Belga on a Cancun insider website several years ago.It has become a MUST visit for us on our yearly visits to Cancun. The location is lovely and secluded and you can dine by candle light inches from the water. Everything is fresh and delicious. The bread is superb,,,warm and crunchy. We always have to have the the meringue... more

this restaurant is on the lagoon at the very north end of the hotel zone so you are looking across at the hotel zone. It is very small and quiet, you cross a little walking bridge and gardens to get to it. The food was very good and they always have fresh specials. I will definately be back here. Only... more

Perfect restaurant when you are tired of all of the chains. Food is fresh, has good variety (everything from duckling (yum) to steaks (yum, yum). Reasonalbly priced for quality and quantity of food. Also reasonably priced wine selection. Pleasant relaxed atmosphere and wait staff. Kitchen is slow because all food is prepared to order and the wait is worth it. We... more

La Palapa Belga is a Belgian restaurant hidden inside the Imperial Laguna hotel(lagoon side). They don't advertise much, they are located off the main Cancun hotel strip so your best bet might be to get there in a cab.The food is outstanding: Moules Marinieres served in a gigantic pot Super tender beef tenderloin medallions Large ,fresh and delectable prawns with garlic Those... more
