We took the bus into downtown Cancun from the Hotel Zone and took the short walk to La Parrilla for lunch. It was a Saturday morning so the restaurant had their lunch buffet in full swing. There was a large selection of serve yourself items (rice, beans, grilled vegetables, salads, casseroles, fruit, dessert, etc) as well as a taco station... More

I have been travelling to Mexico for a long time. I always love finding some of the best local Mexican restaurants with as much authenticity as possible. So I asked the concierge at our hotel which is the best local Mexican restaurant and she told us La Parrilla. When we arrived at La Parrilla it had the look and feel... More

First I will say when in the hotel zone do yourself a favor and take a $15 cab ride to downtown cancun for better restaurants at a third of the cost. You can take bus back for $1 because there is no traffic going that way. Coming you could take bus but it will take 45-1 hr with traffic and... More

La Parilla is downtown and has a very large menu. Mostly Mexican fare but the steaks are excellent. The restaurant is clean and the waiters are attentive without being overbearing. Live Mariachi music and they will play a selection for you at your table (for $100 pesos) We got a selection called the Mexican grill that had steak, chicken, pork... More

We had a fun evening here with fantastic waiters who bring you your drinks balanced on their heads - terrifying and entertaining at the same time. Food was Mexican and good enough, but to be honest we weren't that bothered as the serenading Mexican band and the magician and continued fun from Te waiters kept us well entertained all evening

This place has an aura of Fawlty towers. Not because it's funny or amusing but more so in the sense of that it tries to show off and proudly presents a place that's stuck in it's glory days (which I'm guessing were somewhere in the late 70'). Without having been there before (and won't be going there again) I'm sure... More

We were told by several locals that this was the place to go to get authentic Mexican food. we were disappointed in the bland flavor that we received with all 3 dishes ordered. The service was not that impressive either. while I am glad we went I wouldn't go back.

Being in Cancun and eating Resort food the whole time does not do justice to the Mexican Culture and Cuisine. We had asked for a local place to get Authentic Mexican Cuisine and were sent to La Parilla. The place is bold and over the top with decorations, mariachis and excellent food and drinks. It's a little "touristy" and you... More

We asked the concierge for an authentic mexican restaurant - not a touristy place. Big mistake. I knew I'd been had when the hostess asked what hotel we were staying at and who recommended it. Can you say kickback? Sure enough as soon as we sat down they put sombreros on us and tried to sell me pictures. Then the... More
