La Parrilla is located downtown away from the hotel zone. The food is very good. The atmosphere is fun and ethnic. The wait staff was very nice and attentive. There was team ready to serve us. When we first arrived they gave us "tickets" for a free drink. Either a margarita or a pina colada. They bring out a small... more

I read the reviews on TA, and decided to give it a try. I am 63 and travel alone so I like to go to new places. This place was bustling on Thursday night. Several mariachi bands wlaked in off the street and played. Then I got to watch about 10 waiters serve a table of 20. Oneof those waiters... more

We were there a week or so ago furing the Day of the Dead and they'd really made an effort to dress up and entertain. Skeletons everywhere traditional shrines and the Mariachi band of course. As a veggie I had the vegetable fajitas and they were lovely - huge portions at a decent price and my girlfriend had a lobster... more

We are traveling with our young children, so we really value the opportunity to dine in places with "authentic" Mexican decor plus Mariachi, etc. We were not disappointed at La Parilla. I don't know what "real" Mexican food should be like. We hosted an exchange student last year and quickly realized it was almost impossible to show him "real" American... more

We were taken to La Parilla by our taxi driver, upon his recommendation. The place was exactly what we were looking for. We thought it was a real "local" type authentic mexican restaurant. There was a large mariachi band. You had to pay $8.00 for a song, but it was so worth it. It was a bit more of a... more

This restaurant is noisy, open to the street, crowded most times of the day and filled with locals, ex-pats and tourists – doesn’t get much better than that. We choose this place to celebrate our son’s 13th birthday. Our concierge, Mayra, from Club Med had called ahead to order a tres leche cake with a Happy Birthday piped on the... more

The food was mediocre and expensive for the size of portions and the service worse. Having lived in Mexico and hearing that the locals eat here gave me a great deal of hope for this place. I guess the locals eat here to experience the drek that we have in the States that passes as Mexican food. Totally disappointing. The... more

For authentic dining in Cancun you must go to La Parilla. My husband and I have been to 7 other restaurants for dinner and this was by far the most authentic and fun place to eat. The food was good and the prices are extremely reasonable. We have spent $100 a night on dinner and at La Parilla we only... more

Not exactly sure how we stumbled upon this restaurant but it was worth the find!! We took the bus from the Westin and then wandered in the streets for a while till we found the place. Its off the path of all the tourist traps and feels completely authentic. We had a JUMBO margarita at the bar before being seated.... more
