Went to cancun in January 2015 and stayed at the Omni resort - right across the road from Captains Cove. We ate there on night the food was very good and we sat right by the water. Its alittle pricey but so is all the food in Cancun. Very nice!

Went for brunch and dinner. Brunch was decent. Miss it being at the Royal Mayan. Dinner on the other hand was not great. I got the combination shrimp platter. Coconut shrimp was heavily breaded and overcooked. The stuffed shrimp was barely stuffed and dry. And the fried shrimp was good. Although reminded me of frozen breaded shrimp. My husband got... First night great service , 4 days later service was very bad. The waiter did not know about the house dressing?

Enjoyed this restaurant very much. Food was good value for the price, ambience was wonderful and the waiters were so professional. Very quick with service and very friendly. We enjoyed the live alligator show too!

Steaks were okay; nothing special with seasoning or anything. New menu item Stuffed Grouper missed the mark. Flan serving was a huge cheesecake-style slice but no flavor. Atmosphere is very lovely though!

Food was not so good, especially for the prices you paid. Service was just ok. Had reservations on the water but they sat us in a dark corner. Would not go back.

I ordered the three peppers tuna and that was amazing. My girlfriend ordered the risotto and the portion was huge and not to impressive. The place next door was hosting a karaoke night where drunk americans where singing there favorite tunes. All and all the experience was good. Enjoy

I was staying at 'all-inclusive' type of hotel. Going to the Captain's Cove allowed me to get a more real mexican flavour of the food and style. The view of the lake is simply marelous. It was calm and there plenty of families with kids around. There is a kid's area and a clown making 'shaped balloons' for them My... More
