Excellent Empanadas and More

I have been eating here regularly for 5 years - since I started travelling to Veracruz. The empanadas are the best in town - I fell in love with empanadas in Buenos Aires and I have tried them at every restaurant in Veracruz I have viisted that has them on the menu and El Gaucho is at the top... read more

One is got to wait for a table, but boy! is it worth the wait. Food, drinks and service are primo for a reasonable price. It's a locals' place. Their menu varies from Argentina style steaks to "Gorditas y Picadas de Veracruz. You must try this place

Been here solo on my way to merida. Even though i speak no spanish the waiter was patient and was Very correct in his manners. Good food with traditional mexican dishes aswell as argintinian and italian food like pastas. The steak i decided to order was perfectly cooked. This is one of the best restaurants in Veracruz. An older establishment, but they know how to greet, serve and cater to their guests. Definitely the place to frequent for breakfast, lunch AND dinner.

Great food from a wide selection of seafood and beef (Argentinian.) Family friendly but not formica and plastic at all. a bit too noisy and bright for a romantic couples date night for my tastes, but the food makes up for it.

The classic argentinian restaurant good meat, good taste. The service is good, there is a lot of good options, I don't like the seefood so this is a great option.

I have been returning to this restaurant on my visits to Veracruz for over 15 years. I love the table top hibachi grill that you can cook and keep food warm, I especially like the steak, pork and shrimp combo. The salads are fresh and crisp and the assorted breads are great. The queso flamado with Chorizo and hand made... More

The breakfast there are really good because you can try the picaditas, gordas, and empanadas that are traditional in Veracruz. It's a small family restaurant, so do not expect someplace fancy.

I expected more. In other trips to Veracruz we went to eat there, now we returned and it is not the same. The service now is very low and the food was better, maybe the administration changed. The cost/value has it's disadvantages because you do not have something better in return. You can go but do not expect something great.
