You can find the best Lechero (Mexican traditional coffee drink) in town in this cafe. It's great how the high skilled waiters pour the milk into the coffee cup from half a meter high without splashing even one droplet. The atmosphere is very nice and the big hall is most of the time full of people. Sometimes, if lucky, you... More

when you're out and about in Veracruz, this is a fun place to have the famous coffee drink with milk (lechero). As an American who likes lattes, after being in areas of Mexico like Veracruz or Puebla without a lot of European or American style cafe's, this was a welcome sight. Apparently this place has been in existence for close... More

Although very famous and recommended, I found the food and coffee terrible and service not very good either. Try Bar Estribo in hotel Diligencias instead.

Don't be confused - there are two Cafe La Parroquia places on the same block of the Malecon. ONLY go to the one not affiliated with Tin Tin Tin. The original La Parroquia is fantastic. Great food, great service - excellence abounds! Avoid the chain franchise which is not nearly as good.

I loved the food, you don´t have to miss "Café con Leche" which is the traditional Cafe Latte made at la Parroquia. There are typical dishes you want to try (Enchiladas Verdes, Enchiladas Rojas, Tortilla la parroquia), Sweet bakery is also delicious. The fiesta atmosphere is great during the nigh time. People dancing and playing typical Mexican songs. Probably the... More

We loved the breakfasts there: lechero con la plata del fruta. The waiters were friendly and courteous, and efficient. The Gran Cafe is Veracruz' best when it comes to desayuno!

This is supposed to be a historic restaurant, but we discovered that the original site no longer exists. It was fine on a hot afternoon, but not at all historic.

However, the food is horrible at all their locations. It's bland and so very tasteless, go for the coffee and bread. They can't go wrong there.

Café de la parroquia is huge as wel as hugely famous. The personel matches that in arrogance. They're not unfriendly persé, but fail to give me a welcome feeling

I'm not sure exactly why, but my family loves this place. I think at best it's OK. If I have a choice, there are other restaurants where I would prefer to eat. THis is just a very large dining room with tables and chairs, no ambiance to speak of. There are street venders that try to sell you things as... More
