Great Cafe con Leche

My wife and I visited the restaurant in late morning. It is very busy through out the day in spite of the heat & humidity. Very good service. The coffee is excellent. Food for my wife and I was ok, but not good. I recommend the coffee. It's a must.

This establishment is one of the city's most frequented cafes by locals. To get a true taste of the cultura Jarocha you have to go to this particular Parroquia. There can be some confusion between this brand of La Parroquia and the other brand, make sure you go to the one that says "200 años". The "must get" on the... More

The "lechero" coffee is the only thing traditional here, the food is pretty standard, and the salsa at the table is the one you can get at any supermarket. The waiters are nice, but not very fast. Be prepared to wait in the outside for a table, it can get really crowded. I will not come back.

If you are not Mexican, it can be a LONG time until you get waited on! The staff would rather not deal with foreigners.... tooo much trouble apparently. Once you finally do get a menu and an order in, it's okay. I don't really understand why it's always so crowded, because I think the food is mediocre at best.

My family and I visited Veracruz, one of our stops for sure was La Parroquia for Dinner, the food was great and the service is good, what I love about this place is the music and coffee, you have to go there.

This of couse is a classic in the Port of Veracruz. Some people say that if you did not go to La Parroquia, you simply were not in Veracruz. It is quite a busy and large place but service is fast, try Café Lechero, the classic of Veracruz like espresso with hot milk served in front of you, and maybe... More

You cannot visit Veracruz without going to this restaurant and trying the cafe lechero. I would be like going to the Asturies without drinking a cider or going to Italy and not drinking an expresso. This place doesn't look like much, it seems to not have changed during the last 50 years but it has kept this familiar mood, where... More

La Parroquia is famous throughout Mexico and known for it's coffee and is always busy. If you tap your spoon on your saucer repeatedly the waiter will come and add milk to you coffee in the famous La Parroquia style. The food and service is good and reasonably priced. The decor and style of the place reminds you of the... More

Julia and I spent most winters in Veracruz. We met so many other people who came to Veracruz to spend the winter because Veracruz in not an expensive location. There are many nearby places to visit like Boca del Rio, the Indians swinging on the high pole north of Veracruz and also in Boca del Rio. The sidewalk cafes are... More
