The place is not so bad. Food was ok, we tried tacos - recommend them. I had spinach soup - was nice and tastful, but the traditional soup was a failure. My friends tried it and were dissapointed. Ambient is ok, service was ok too. But the food is SOOO overpriced, so the overall impression of attempt to be classy... More

We came here after reading all the great reviews. The food was good, but not with the money. The place was also a bit up tight trying to be fancy but failing to do so. The tacos were good, the tamales as well but the transitional soup disappointing.

San Cristobal is filled with interesting restaurants but if you want to go upscale this is a very good choice. I had the pork dish and my wife the pasta, and both were very good (though possibly not _quite_ as good as the dinners we had at Restaurante Lum in the Hotel Bo). You won't be disappointed by the food... More

Recomended by the staff at Bo hotel. This was a good choice. Great tastes from regional Chipas cooking. Good blending of Habaneras in the dishes as we asked for medium to hot.

If you look for regional dishes when traveling, this restaurant (with small courtyard, dining room and small hotel) is one you won't want to miss when in this magical center of the Mayan Highlands. A few block uphill from the main square ("parque"), this is your chance to try state and city ("coleto") specialties. Chef Zepeda is a local, trained... More

We had heard this was the best restaurant in the area so were anxious to try it. We should have reconsidered when we asked the receptionists in the hotel where the bar was and despite the sign saying 'hotel, restaurant and bar' they had no idea what we were talking about. We gave up and found a more accommodating bar... More

This is the best restaurant in San Cristobal de las Casas. Food, service and presentation are all excellent I was in San Cristobal 9 days and ate at Tierra y Cielo six times - that's how much I liked it.

I asked the server captain to clarify if one of the dishes was a type of Carpaccio and he said it was exactly Carpaccio. However, when I received the dish it was something totally different from Carpaccio. It was cooked meat and nothing close. Disappointing. Furthermore, what was brought to me was covered in an overpowering lime flavour and spoiled... More

Tierra y Cielo is a kind of fancy mexican food restaurant. We ordered the "gorditas" which were very good! Also the "cecina", steak "a los 3 chiles" and an "adobo" pork, everything was delicious, and also the service is ok. They tell you in the menu if the dishes are spicy, very spicy or not spicy. The 2-icons spicy IT... More
