It was our third or fourth night in San Cristobal de las Casas, Chiapas, when we decided to treat our palates and dine at one of the nicest restaurants on the Real de Guadalupe. I speak, of course, of El Argentino. Impeccable service and fabulous cuisine. It was a cold night, but the warm atmosphere there made for a wonderful... More

It' ishard to cook steak badly. But both Steaks around our table were both overcooked and cold. Not great. The restaurant was strange. It has very high specification decor so looks the part. The wine menu is massively overpriced versus other local restaurants and this is clearly where the margin is made to pay for the decor. There were loads... More

Excellent quality meat, which they import from Canada, and which they cook to perfection. The starters were not as good and the wine quite expensive but a nice ambiente in the restaurant.

Me and my wife and two friends visited the restaurant two consequtive days when we stayed in San Cristobal during our round trip in Mexico. We all liked the atmosphere, the service, the food (=excellent) and the wines.

Steak is what they do here and the steaks look good. We had mixed luck. One was lovely but the other was a bit chewy. House wine was 250 pesos, so the bill overall was a lot higher than we are used to here.

El Argentino is located just in the middle of the "ANDADOR GUADALUPANO". They serve great dishes, but especially meat cuts. We had the empanadas first, and then one "Vacio" cut and "Entraña" cut. The sides are salad and fries. We also had a very great wine. The service is also amazing. The only thing is that it is a little... More

Located on the main street real de guadalupe. This restaurant has amazing steaks. The price isn't cheap especially in Mexico standards but it's well worth it

El Argentino is a prominent restaurant right off of the main promenade area. What a gorgeous place for dinner. From the candle light on the table to the charming blue and white lanterns and bottles of wine, this is a great find for those who are willing to spend a bit more for gorgeous salads and

The food is very good, the staff friendly and attentive and the food comes out at a good pace. Exceptionally tasty empanadas. Would recommend this to anyone who wants to shell out a few extra pesos and enjoy some fine dining.

We had dinner here looking for a change and the overall experience was ok. Meet was good, cooked at the right point. Appetizers were good, we had some grilled cheese. Fries and salad accompanying meet were nothing special. It's a good choice for meet if you're looking for that, just don't expect do be amazed.
