The ambiance at this restaurant is nice, and the owner (or manager) is very attentive. The menu is very confused, with little rhyme or reason to how the items relate to one another (hence, I suppose "Babel"). My Argentine steak was good, but the pasta choices seemed ill-conceived. Go here for the decor more than the food.
After travelling for seven months in Central America I found the best food , World Food at Babel .
Stefano is a master no doubt about it , a small stylish restaurant , very comfortable for a lone woman diner , the waitress was very friendly & Stefano gave recommendations & described the dishes which really were out of this...

We waited almost an hour for our diner (one salmon and one pasta dish), after the waitress brought us the wrong dishes after half an hour. Service was very pushy, mediocre: she asked 3 times if I wanted an extra beer while we were still waiting for our diner. Apparently the reason why it took so long is that everything...

We ordered the tapas which was nice but extremely small. Then we ordered onion soup which was tart and disappointing and the minestrone soup which was just inedible with a strange smell. We ordered a steak to try to at least eat something but it was so rare (we ordered medium) that we asked for it to be put on...

Babel came highly recommended and boy did it pull through for us! It was that needle in the haystack one always searches for in a new town and we lucked out! The food was divine, the wine very reasonable, the service the best we have received in a very long time, the attention to detail above and beyond. I wish...

Thanks to Stefano and Chickie for a lovely meal here the other night. Innovative, high-quality cuisine and a classy, cozy ambiance. We had a wonderful time!
This is significantly more expensive than the majority of places to eat in San Cristobal but it has a nice atmosphere and is great for something a little more fancy like a birthday or celebration. Especially good for steak lovers! Very interesting menu and nice wine list. Staff are very friendly and it's in a great location.
The food here is good. I had the chocolate fettuccine, which really was delicious. My wife had the Argentinian steak, which was cook to perfection, though it only came with potato chips, which is really pretty pathetic. The owner of the restaurant, an Italian fellow, is quite affable, though is constantly trying to up sell everything. The 850 peso bottle...

It's a shame about this restaurant. They are in a good spot, and have a few small outdoor tables as well. My husband liked his meal, and he liked the ambiance as well. My meal was a slab of well very cooked steak, that arrived without the veg promised by the menu (potato chips are NOT a suitable substitute). The...
