Excellent, tasty Mexican food of many types, including authentic Chiapaneca food. This restaurant is run by Zapatistas and there are several tiendas around the eating area selling products from Zapatista villages. Free WiFi, very good music (both live and recorded,) nice ambiance. The NY Times says it has a fixed price meal for $30 --- WRONG!! You can eat well for $ 10 and nearly as well for $ 7.00 USD.

Fantastic place, location food and music, top!

We loved this place, went for dinner eating a delicious shrimp and orange dish, plus a good salmon and a soup. Everything very good with a fantastic live music band!

My husband and I loved the food, the music, and the vibe! The salsas were diverse, and each a different heat. The messages of solidarity with local and global struggles are also inspiring.

We stopped by FOUR times and there was nobody to seat us. The menu, which we read while waiting, consists of ALL cuisines of what seems like the entire world.

We ate here often. You get good value for money and good no fuss fool with a cool ambient. Breakfast was a good deal as was just about anything else. Our kids even loved the pizza!. It was consistently reliable.

This place is amazing and one of the few we found where we could have traditional dishes from the region. The food is real good and portions are more than enough. We ate here twice and had breakfast once and everything we tried was delicious. Besides food, all servers are friendly and accommodating. Prices are amazing, too. You CANT miss... More

The place is quite interesting and they have several mentions to the zapatista movement. The coffee is excellent and the interior patio is a great place to relax and read a book.

This place is a cooperative of the zapatistas, and has local live music most nights. We ended up going back twice more we enjoyed the relaxed atmosphere and nice food so much. Almost everything we had was nice, pizzas, soups, all of it. I was a big fan of their chocolate milkshakes...

Nice place with a patio where you can sit for a coffee or a dinner. We enjoyed good local music and good food (good typical sopas with fresh local veg and a tasty pizza). Environment is special as it is in all this magic city...not to be missed!

here, at the zapatista's cooperative, we had our best coffee since starting our travel through Mexico. Unfortunately, they hadn't any more left for sale (next harvest in 1-2 months) so the waiter recommended bying coffee at Yik Cafe, which we did. The breakfast was very good too. Nice atmosphere (music, surrounding), good service.
