fresh pulque!

Lovely traditional Oaxacan food. My favorite was the Tehuana salad, which was so beautiful I had to take a photo. For dessert we tried the fresh pulque.

We walked here for dinner. Cool atmosphere, but after appetizers and drinks, the service disappeared. We left and walked down to Los Danzantes and had a great meal. Management needs to address the poor service. The menu looked good, but we were to frustrated to stay.

Fabulous, inventive, fresh dishes in a vibrant artsy environment. In Mexico, where it seems they serve the same 4-5 beers in every restaurant, Biznaga offers a great selection of craft beers. They also use many local ingredients in new and inventive ways, all delicious. We had three 15-year old girls who loved it, but I am not so sure it... More

We went to La Biznaga early evening, the courtyard provided a great atmosphere, with a nice level of music and general buzz of conversation. We spent a couple of hours eating and people-watching. The Mexican Merlot was lovely and went well with La Fresca ensalada, followed by tarte manzana with helado with walnuts. (part Spanish part English review!) I would... More

Great atmosphere, great food, great price. What more do you want? Right off the most lovely walking street in town, the Vigil. You will not be disappointed.

We tried La Biznaga once and went back 3 more times. The menu is traditional but with an artisanal twist. Especially loved the salads and we tried the pulque.

At first we were a bit worried when we entered La Biznaga's patio. It was crowded with tourists and hippie-chic families and didn't look like a genuine Mexican restaurant. But we gave it a try, knowing that a place the Lonely Planet credited is bound to appeal to tourists. But I insist this place is first and foremost a safe... More

Among are top-three in Oaxaca (see my other reviews), this restaurant serves some of the finest food I've ever eaten. However, though I rate it at "5," I do understand some of the negative reviews, as the wait staff is often young and ineffective. However, the food trumps that for me as, in 5 or 6 meals this year, the... More

Using unique Oaxacan ingredients this restaurant manages to delight. From the herbesanta wrapped squash blossom, cheese and chilli appetizer to the phenomenal cecina (pork) ribs cooked with guava and fermented sap (can't remember the name) the meal was delicious. The marinated chicken with Purslane is to be recommended too

So delicious, warm and cozy. Located on a charming street. You need to make reservations! The soup is the best, honestly everything was fantastic.
