Tobaziche is a place that evokes Oaxaca. We refer to the Sierra, the land, the Oaxacan maguey. Oaxaca is concentrated in one place, indigenous and colonial, preserving the nobility inherited from ancestors but facing the contemporary present air. Who eats in Oaxaca Tobaziche will experience your senses (to its market, its colors, flavors and succulent surprise) under the principles of order, hygiene, generosity and warmth. It will inspire the party and good food. Visit us!

Read reviews here and set out to go there a few nights ago. Thought perhaps we'd passed it and consulted doorman at Quinta Real Hotel nearby. Told us it had closed and pointed to shuttered building across and down street.

I do not get all the hype about this place and certainly do not agree with the graet comments from fellow reviewers. I ordered the Tuna Tartare and asked the waiter if they were any side dish coming with this plate, which is listed on the menu as a MAIN dish. He evaded the question , saying that this was... More

The place looks nice, the service is very courteous and friendly, but the feeling from our group was that the food doesn't live up to the expectations or to the prices. I had an octopus appetizer and felt the octopus was mushy, either not fresh or overcooked. Fish was overcooked, and other dishes just have superlative flavour. We all wanted... More

My girlfriend and I recently ate here because of the great reviews and the annotation that this was a "cheap eats" option. It is true that the food here is quite good, the decor is beautiful, and they are more than happy to continue filling up your shot glass with free house Mezcal. Our only complaint was that the price... More

My partner and I went to the Carbon Palo for dinner. The place is nice although it was pretty empty just another couple and us. We got the Oaxaca Menu, the starter and the soup wasn't really good. I believe Oaxaca flavor is more than what they serve. We like the service tho, fast and caring! the main dish Mole... More

My wife and I stopped in on whim while down at the festival. Best meal we had in Oaxaca, which in no mean feat. The Tiger's Milk ceviche was recommended and is one of the best I've ever had. I think it was grouper. We also had the pulpo in mole verde and it, too, was amazing. The chef/owner was... More

We liked this restaurant. The Colombian chef was very much present, talking with guests. There's a well priced price fixed menu, which they may not bring you unless you ask. The "deconstructed ravioli osso bucco" was excellent, one of the better dishes I've had lately. And the bean and rabbit soup was good too. Relatively expensive for Mexico, but a... More

Our favorites were the leche de tigre (ceviche) and pulpo in mole sauce appetizers. All the food is superb. The personal attention of the chef and wait staff is flattering and helpful without being obtrusive. Didn't know about the unlimited mezcal, but we had some really good artisan beers. All for an amazingly low price.

We really enjoyed Carbon de Palo and the traditional Oaxacan set menu. As others have mentioned, the food and service were both excellent. The flavors were complex and layered. Even the fried plantains were cooked perfectly, crispy but not oily. The chef came out to talk with us, which was an unexpected treat and made us feel welcome and appreciated... More
