A little piece of Italy in Oaxaca

Excellent service. It has a very nice garden with a huge avocado tree. The mozzarella and the proscuitto were amazing but even better were the on the house pomodoro and mozzarella sticks. The pizza was italian fantastic, not to mention the home made wine.

I had heard Mexita had great pizza, but never thought I would have some of the best pasta I have ever had in Mexico! We were in Oaxaca during mushroom season and had a special pasta with fresh varieties of mushrooms from the Northern Sierra of Oaxaca and handmade pasta - absolutely wonderful! In addition, the pizza lived up to... More

Our place was just around the corner and on our last day, we decided to stop in for Cena (small meal of the evening). We first ordered wine and found out the chef makes his own wine so we had to his wine. It was a bit sweet but interestingly, the finish was dry. It went perfectly with the pear... More

My husband grew up in Italy and even he loves his place. We ordered Margherita pizza, rigatoni with bechamel (sp?) sauce and gnocchi with ragu sauce. It was all excellent and fresh tastin. We loved that we could take it to go, since we weren't up for a sit down formal dinner. The owner is apparently from Naples so he... More

my wife, daughter and myself were told about this little gem from another Italian restaurant owner from Puerto Escondido, and we were not disappointed but treated to an outstanding taste of Italy. We had a generous portion of a large salad to open, complimentary brushchetta was making the taste buds stand up and salute and then 3 different pizzas was... More

We came here for lunch and arrived right when they opened. We brought our 3-yr-old and 9-month-old with us and sat at a table near the grass. The wait staff was very friendly and helpful. They treated our children kindly and allowed our oldest to move around and play. They also spoke English well enough to explain the menu and... More

It was very good before, but now in this new location its even better, the food is very good, the pizza and the salads are great! The owner is a great guy, he even gave us complimentary homemade limoncello.

We thoroughly enjoyed our first Italian meal in Oaxaca. The friendly welcome and service along with the delicious fish mains and scrumptious desserts made it a memorable lunch. Our server was delightful and full of interesting tidbits of information about the food and the city. We will be sure to return next winter when we plan to return to this... More
