Hamburgers!

Every time my husband and I visit Oaxaca, we always eat here about once a week. The hamburgers are perfection: the beef, bun, roasted potatoes, garnish are as delicious as any we have had in NYC. Great grilled chicken, fresh fish, salads with homemade dressing. Carlos, the greeter and owner... read more

Tried El Quinque on strength of Tripadvisor reviews. Not disappointed. A small walk from Santo Domingo cultural centre this is small neighborhood restaurant run by mother and son combination. Tuna we ordered, upon waiters recommendation, was fresh and delicious. Well cooked, seasoned with a simple but delicious salsa. Our kids had home-made beef burgers, equally good. Service was friendly and... More

A little off the beaten track, but a nice find. Cute interior, personable service, very good food. Recommended.

We were staying at The Parador on Calle Macedonia Alaca so we were pleased to find this place on the end of our block. The shrimp I had were huge and had been purchased fresh that morning. My friend had a fillet of fish that was enormous; twice what they would give you as a portion in the states. My... More

I visited this place with a friend that raved about the burgers and it did not disappoint. After living in Oaxaca for 2 years, you can really miss luxuries like a hamburger that is thicker than a piece of paper and not just on Bimbo bread. This burger was thick and juicy with cheese and bacon on a nice roll.... More

Our first dining experience in Oaxaca didn't disappoint. Carlos the owner's son does a great job of running the place and was a pleasure to talk to. Late Sunday afternoon meal with just a couple of tables filled with local families. The ribs special with potates, corn, veggies was fabulous. Homemade potato roll perfect for sopping up the delicious Kansas... More

We are finishing up our Mexican winter and after eating out in different locales for six months, we keep returning in our minds, and stomachs, to Oaxaca and El Quinque. In our travels to a number of other spots we have yet to find a restaurant that offers delicious, fresh food of good quality, on a consistent basis. The fish... More

I had lunch there last week with four people in total. I thought the food was ok and the waiter was unfriendly and elusive.
