Best BBQ ribs, great place

We are finishing up our Mexican winter and after eating out in different locales for six months, we keep returning in our minds, and stomachs, to Oaxaca and El Quinque. In our travels to a number of other spots we have yet to find a restaurant that offers delicious, fresh food of good quality, on a consistent basis. The fish... More

I had lunch there last week with four people in total. I thought the food was ok and the waiter was unfriendly and elusive.

We chose this restaurant because of the closeness to our place and the price range along with the reviews. We were not disappointed. We had the shrimp al ajillo which was excellent and since we are small eaters we shared it along with the green salad that was huge. We were quite happy that we shared. To end our delightful... If You Are Looking For Traditional Oaxacanian Faire, NOT HERE! But If You Are Looking For Well Prepared Stunningly Fresh CUISINE, THIS IS THE PLACE!!! We have eaten in hundreds of restaurants all over the world, but as, the owner said, "No one cooks like my Mama," and we totally agree! We are "foodies" from the Bay Area and as... More

A local baker told me to try this spot and so I did. What a lovely meal, creative , delicious and great values. Perfect size in a nice area up the walking street. Owner was friendly , accommodating and made great suggestions for food. Grilled tuna - fab, burgers - just delicious. All the food is fresh, nicely presented, abundant... More

Great food, small restaurant, waiter (may be the owner) speaks good English. I had the salmon which came with lots of yummy veg and potatoes, others had burgers which they both loved. Lots of other good fish options.

We 3 friends were directed to El Quinque by our hosts in Oaxaca, and liked it so much that we went back 3 times! It's a tiny, but cozy family-run restaurant located centrally in the historic district. The host speaks fluent English and is very friendly and accommodating. The food is scrumptious and comes in very generous portions. We have... More
