What a find.

Just a short walk from our BnB and what a find. Small, family run with great food and wonderful, friendly, personal service. I had heard that they were noted for their hamburgers. Not very Mexican, but I thought I'd give it a try. BEST HAMBURGER EVER!! Oh my goodness. In the US it is what is put... read more

The food and the service were excellent. I didn't mind the fact that there were only tourists, in Oaxaca in general in such restaurants there usually are mostly tourists. The problem was the noise: the music was suited for a disco/bar, the acoustics terrible and noises from upstairs were unbearable, chairs and tables moving every few minutes. I don't think... More

My husband and I ate there this evening and based on our experience, we are stunned by the 4 1/2 star rating! First of all the menu dia was still posted outside the restaurant but not available when we asked for it. They had only one kind of beer...Victoria. Our tablecloth was dirty and also had bread crumbs over it... More

Great food and quick service. Recently tried their hamburger which is possibly the best burger I have ever had. Restaurant offers excellent value for your pesos.

I loved the fish and seafood here. I had the salmon on our first visit and the tuna..which was cooked to perfection..on our second visit. My hubby had the shrimp both times. A bonus for us was the green salad that is served with each meal. We did try many other restaurants but El Quinque was our base for comparison.... More

Is this place for locals? International food? It's more like an overpriced Fonda food is delicious though. Might want to update their menus

For 5 years running, our favorite restaurant in Oaxaca..Mama cooks wonderful fish, Dorado, Salmon,Atun and others with sauces that are divine..Huge slabs of fresh fish with salad, veggies and juice, enough for a 2nd meal..absolutely delicious! Go early for lunch before 2:30, as there are only 6 tables downstairs. Everything they do is wonderful, and they have a special comida... More

I ate here a few times on the visit to Oaxaca - seriously my favorite restaurant I tried in the city! Fresh, delicious, simple, masterfully prepared. Healthy and paleo friendly. Was a nice break from tacos... friendly owners and chill atmosphere to take a break from the heat and read a book too!

Just ate there. Esteban recommended the shrimp al ajillo (chiles and garlic), in a sauce with zucchini, broccoli. My wife and I each had it. Oh boy. So tasty, just right picante, potatoes. Agua de jamaica, not sweet but tart, better than a glass of wine. Saw other folks at other tables having pasta (looked great), a fried steak. All... More

I was so pleased to find this restaurant on my last day in Oaxaca. I had been told it was good, but did not get the idea that it was exactly what I enjoy in a dining experience. It is small (seats 20 downstairs and a few upstairs) and simple, but the food is home-cooked style, the service is excellent... More
