Great food and very well prepared and presented. Carlos, his brother and mother have created a warm and welcoming atmosphere. The prices are unbelievable, especially given the quality of the food served. Portions are very generous. The arrachera is to die for. Can't recommend El Quinque highly enough. We will definitely be back on our next trip to Oaxaca.

We had a wonderful meal here. Hubby had garlic shrimp and I had the Milanesa. WOW! The garlic mashed potatoes were out of this world. Wish we could have made it back for the hamburgers and the ribs. Carlos and Esteban were welcoming and gracious.

My wife and I visited this restaurant for lunch. I ordered the chicken, and she ordered a steak. Both meals were excellent. The service was attentive and the food was tasty. Most of all, the salad was delicious! apparently the ribs are very tasty, they assessed on Saturday… we would have loved to have made it for the ribs, perhaps... More

Carlos and his brother and mother run an amazing restaurant. I lead a photography tour to Oaxaca during Day of the Dead and our group always votes El Quinque the best restaurant hands down and most would eat every meal there is they could. The burgers are amazing, the seafood fresh and creative and the Arrachera is so tender it... More

We love this place! Found it on trip advisor and the reviews are spot on. We ate there twice while in Oaxaca. Once for dinner which was so delicious! I had the salmon and my husband the rib eye. Both were so, so good! We returned for lunch and I had the hamburger and my husband had chicken. Again delicious!... More

What a find! We went in for the BBQ Ribs on a Friday and found out they were only served on Saturdays. No problem. We ordered the Large Gourmet Hamburger. Un believable. Over an inch thick. Cooked perfectly. Bacon, cheese, beautiful organic lettuce, tomato,, all on a home made potato bun and served with home fries and a pitcher of... More

This little family-run restaurant is on the corner of a charming little plaza. I went for lunch on my second day in Oaxaca and have been back twice. I liked everything I tried. Even the hamburger was one of the best I´ve had, and that´s saying something. The mom and one son do the cooking, and another son does the... More

El Quinque is one of the best inexpensive restaurants on the planet. My wife and I were turned onto the place by local ex-pats, who love it for the food and no doubt appreciate that Carlos your host has impeccable English (as does Estaban, his brother, the cook). On our first visit, my wife had the comida and I had... More

This is a casual cafe with brilliant food. Two brothers work front and back of house and mum cooks out the back serving traditional and non-traditional food. And if you're there on a Saturday, she cooks a special dish. We lucked out by walking in on a Saturday and were treated to mumma's slow baked pork ribs which fell off... More

We ate there twice in 3 days, so that tells you how much we enjoyed it! Had salmon the first night, which was cooked perfectly. Had the hamburger the second night - again excellent. One thing to note is that they don't serve booze, but you can bring your own beer or wine, and they don't charge corkage. This is... More
