Tlayudas hipsters!

$90 pesos a Tlayuda (giant toasted corn tortilla) with meat, tomato, cheese and pasta beans. The Tlayudas are like the tacos of Oaxaca. This is not the best place for them, but if you are around the pedestrian zone it's a nice place to visit and order a Tlayuda for dinner, then head to any bar for... read more

I was tired & thirsty & just stopped at the first likely place outside Santo Domingo. Service was great. They let me try a taster of the wine, it was good. So I stayed for some tostadas. Wait staff were awesome putting up with my bad Spanish and omitted the olives no problem. It was good!!!

Had been once before and thought the burger was pleasant, so on my mothers last day here visiting me I decided to take her for a farewell meal and was really disappointed. The waitress ignored my request for no bacon on the burger and when I asked why, explaining I culturally wouldn't eat it she told me just to pick... More

You can count on Comala for good service and delicious food served in an attractive setting. Their 70 peso comida is a real bargain. This three-course meal usually includes a wonderful soup, an entree, a fruit-flavored water, dessert and coffee. Service is friendly and professional. The setting, a flower-filled patio with green mosaic walls, offers a cool oasis on a... More

Have to admit, haven't bothered to go back this year yet. Been here 2 months. Nothing calls me. Walk by the place about twice a week. Too many other good places to visit. No bad experiences, just no great times there.

The hospitality and great food are their trademark. Great food at very affordable price and the location, convenient just across from Sto. Domingo church

Comala is a good place to go for drinks but not the best for dining; the service is off and on and the food is a bit over priced - if you're looking for a "menu del dia" or traditional Mexican/Oaxacan food you can definitely find better quality and a lower price at other places. However, it's located very conveniently... More

Comala offers a consistently high quality 75 peso "Menu del Dia", starting at 2:00 PM Monday through Saturday. The first course may be soup, salad, or another interesting appetizer and is always tasty and exciting, with the fabulous soups being my favorite. I have tried, without success, to reproduce the Crema de Cilantro at home. Main courses range from beef,... More
