Great food in a nice quiet outdoor patio

Had the pleasure of dining at this terrific restaurant with 3 other family members. The food was delicious. I ordered the caldo Azteca for openers followed by a dish with the Oaxacan mole. Both were very good. My sister-in-law ordered fish which was wrapped in leaves - nice presentation... read more

This is a great place for trying Oaxacan food and getting a wide taste of different flavors and sauces. The Trilogia de moles is a fine way to try 3 excellent moles side-by-side. They provide more than enough tortillas and rice to go with the meal. The sopa Azteca is also a very good soup/appetizer to have before, or with,... More

It's a very nice restaurant we were seated on the courtyard. It was very pleasant atmosphere and decor. I tried the Chapulines (Crikets with salsa) they were delicious. My main entree was Lengua Almendrada. It was a totally different experience. Service was good.

It took two tries – I accidentally managed to order a hot chocolate the first time around (unintentional yet delicious) – but I was finally able to sample a chocolate tamale. Expecting a chocolate filling in a traditional tamale, the dessert’s appearance surprised me. The dark brown tamale was placed atop a streak of tangy passion fruit puree and accompanied... More

We have fond memories of our first visit to Las Quince Letras, back in the early or mid '90s. Thus we anticipated with pleasure a comida there with an expat friend last week. The courtyard was a nice setting, with shrubs; a oasis of cool tranquility. Our helpful waitress recited the options on the set menú del día. It sounded... More

Dined at Restaurante Las Quince Letras with a friend after a satisfying experience at a Sunday market. We arrived after 3pm to enjoy a quiet late lunch in their small, but nice patio. Later on, a guitarist played music for diners. We enjoyed traditional Oaxacan food in an nice environment and lingers for a while in the shade of the... More

We heard about this place from some fellow travelers who know the chef from a previous cooking class. We ate in the charming courtyard for a late lunch and the food was excellent. Very attentive unpretentious service. Well priced.

Only three blocks from the current foodie favorite ( Casa Oaxaca), is a calm little restaurant that sees 40-50 regulars come in for a long lunch every day (not open for dinner). They've been doing this for over twenty years. The ingredients are fresh from the morning market, and the menu changes accordingly. But the best black mole in town... More
