El Morocco has made every effort to provide authentic food and ambience. It is great to have this super alternative to Oaxacan fare, as much as we love that too. Our favorite dishes are the meat-cheese-vegetable pastry appetizers and the lamb couscous. Service is very good too as is the location and prices are reasonable.

Nice atmosphere, very comfy seating. The waiter was actually from Morocco and delivered some good vegetarian options. The olives took me right back to Fez.

Try the beet and mango salad. Two for 1 happy hour is always a plus. Decent prices and generous helpings. Thank you other TA reviewers for the recommendations. Service was great and fast. I do not know what the other reviewers were talking about.

El Morocco was a pleasant surprise just outside central Oaxaca in a residential area. The food was very comparable to that one would find in any city in Morocco - without having to make the trip. Very reasonable prices and wonderful service in a typical Moroccan atmosphere.

Very happy to have found this restaurant. Very comfortable low couches, nice lighting and full open front with the breezes coming in. Killer [meaty] olives in their own garlic olive oil. Ordered the orange salad and bastilla. Perfectly done, crisp, not dry and very savory with overtones of cinnamon and spice. As a chef and restaurant owner, I was very... More

Just a few block up on Reforma where I stayed but QUIET! All of the tables are large round brass plates; just like being there. The food was remarkable - Had to return in a couple days for the Greek Salad - with a minty dressing. The service was fine - the "cookies" were made with orange flower water. The... More

This was the place we came to when our tummies wanted a break from the great moles, tlayudas and other traditional foods that Oaxaca has to offer. The eggplant pita sandwich is delicious and together with the hummus and that little yoghurt sauce makes it a perfect meal. Prices are very reasonable. We really enjoyed their teas as well, they... El Morocco is an attractive restaurant, just north of Conzatti Park, quiet, with delicious food. We ordered two hummus dishes, one with tuna, and a skewer of beef. All were delicious, especially the meat, and enough for two for a light meal. The wine (Italian) was excellent and very reasonably priced. I thought the server was the most professional server... I really like El Morocco. They have several starters that are really good, I love the goats cheese pastries, I think they are called birouates or something similar. The humus, strangely, is a bit patchy, I've had it a couple of times without much flavour. The eggplant sandwich though is absoloutely delicious. It's really well spiced and the eggplant is... More
