Best restaurant in town

The restaurant is a very good introduction to Oaxaca and its exquisite cuisine. The view from the terrasse is also very nice even though it is a little bit dark in the night. The service is very good and the food is very tasty as well.

We came here on the recommendation of our B&B and were not disappointed. We didn't have reservations, but only sat for less than 10 minutes in the company of some chips and salsa down in the patio area before being seated on the rooftop overlooking the cathedral. We tried the chapulines in a quesadilla, the tlayuda, and the steak--all very... More

Do reserve - Outside waiting to get a table - drinks were great and food excellent - didn't think it was expensive but some might disagree.

I've been living in Mexico for 5 years and I have to say that it is one of the best I've tried. The food is fresh and delicious. Every course is well presented, tasty and you will find a diversified choice of dishes. The service is excellent, polite and quick. The place is beautiful if you have the possibility to... More

From the moment you enter this restaurant, everything is attended to, from the custom mixed salsa to your drinks. The food is traditional Oaxacan flavors with a contemporary twist and the service is impeccable. Seating on the rooftop provides a quiet respite to appreciate the special nuances that Oaxaca offers, such as the green and ochre stone from the historic... More

One of the best restaurants in Oaxaca. Delicious food presented in a creative way in a comfortable outside patio. Not inexpensive but worth the extra pesos.

MUST VISIT! The food here is EXCELLENT! This is considered to be the best restaurant in Oaxaca among the locals. We ate lunch and dinner there in the same day, it was so good. Expensive by Oaxacan standards but reasonable for USD. Fabulous food with fabulous service for lunch - slow at dinner due to lots of patrons. May need... More

We spent one month in Oaxaca savouring all that this city has to offer to food lovers. We had been in Casa Oaxaca before (in 2006) and we were looking forward to the experience! We booked a table for 4 people a few weeks in advance and we agreed that, weather permitting, we would get a table on the terrace,... More

We absolutely love this place! The food is 5 star, amazing service, outstanding cocktails and set in a beautiful venue. Complimentary salsa which is delicious, made at the table. We have visited Casa Oaxaca a few times now and can only say positive comments about the restaurant. It's definitely not the cheapest dining in Oaxaca but nothing compares to the... More

I think that this is the best restaurant in Oaxaca City. The food is amazing: no matter what you order, you cannot go wrong. And, they are happy to make something simple for children (like quesadillas), if your kids prefer things that are not "picante." Above and beyond the amazing food, the view from the rooftop terrace -- where the... More
