This dinner started on the wrong foot. Although our hotel had made our reservation for dinner, when we arrived at Casa Oaxaca restaurant the building was closed for renovation and maintenance. How could it happen that a restaurant would confirm a reservation in the morning and cease business by nightfall? Without even a phonecall? Based on the advice of a... More

Salsa made at your table. Wonderful view of the cathedral. The finest restaurant in Oaxaca. There was nothing we did not love about this fine restaurant.

The food was very good, particularly memorable was the salsa prepared at the table, the courgette flower salad stuffed with goats cheese and the lamb chops. Large portions meant that sharing some courses worked well. Service was pleasant and proficient and we enjoyed the settting. Fab food and a great night but don't expect refined cuisine, this meal is robust... More

Next to the Santo Domingo Church. The restaurant has a very nice terrace. Better if you get a table there. Mexican dishes from Oaxaca, delicious meats as well as seafood. There is a turkey black “mole” bittersweet, very nice. Good prices for the quality of the food. It is necessary to make reservations for dinner. From the terrace, on dinner,... More

My family enjoyed a delicious meal on the rooftop of this popular restaurant. Each course was flavorful and lovingly prepared. It was our first dinner of the trip and an excellent introduction to upscale Oaxacan cuisine!

I have had the chance to enjoy Casa Oaxaca half a dozen times and I have never been disappointed. From the hot stone soup to the different moles and great mezcal, always delicious. Definitely stop by before or after your trip to zocolo and the ancient church, both are nearby.

Brilliant, brilliant restaurant. Our young waiter, Victor. spoke excellent English and made our evening very special. The food, with some of it prepared at your table, was out of this world. Fresh, clean flavours making every dish an experience. The highlights were the table-made salsa, the octopus (see photo), the pork belly and the ceviche beef tacos. In a very... More

Had lunch on the rooftop terrace overlooking Santo Domingo Guzman church. Refreshing aqua frescas and fresh salsa made right at the table to accompany a tostado with queso fresco (complimentary) Huge salad with all type of tomatoes for me and chapulines tacos for my husband followed by sauteed shrimp with perfectly done vegetables and suckling pig entrees. Servers were very... More
