Gotta sit on patio

Was told by another traveler about this place. Was told how they make the salsa fresh at your table and they ask you how spicy you like it. Portions are little small but makes it easier to order more variety and share great service and great food. But you have to sit on the patio

Definitely not where the locals eat, which I would prefer, but after a few days of not being able to find good food, this place was definitely welcomed. We had a Tlayuda on the house and blue corn tortilla chips with salsa made table-side al molcajete. My mom ordered shrimp and I ordered octopus, both were delicious! As its a... More

Casa Oaxaca is certainly one of the go-to restaurants for travelers in Oaxaca. Though more authentic meals were more memorable from our visit, this was a nice treat. We booked ahead to secure a table on the terrace which ended up being incredibly windy, but had nice views and music from the square below. The waiters make fresh salsa at... More

The place was fantastic. We started with some drinks at the bar prior to dinner, while we waited to have a table at their terrace. Drinks, food, and service was fantastic. Thanks for a great evening!!!

We were a party of 14. Some of us had great meals, others sent theirs back. A bit disappointing actually relative to the reviews and ratings out there.

We had a great meal and for the price fantastic. This was the Hotel and not the cafe. Wife and I had starters of octopus "casserole" which was sublime and daughter salad. Mains were fish, goose confit and wild boar. All done with Mexican flavours and nod to modern cuisine. Shared dessert was a great chocolate moose. Lovely setting in... More

We were able to eat here twice during the week of Semana Santa and it's not easy to get a reservation. Thank goodness we did! The terrace upstairs is a really nice place to eat. First of all, the service is fantastic. Once we ordered, one of the waiters made a fresh salsa right at our table. Never seen that... More

Everything is so great in this place. The place itself is in such a nice location. The service is so good, it's the kind of service that they are always around to check if everything is ok but you won't feel it. And of course the food, the food is so gorgeous, so good present and the taste is unbelievable,... More

Everyone told me to make sure I check out Casa Oaxaca so I did. And then, nothing happened. It was good food, but it wasn't memorable. And, it was like being in a medical exam room. It was 8:00 at night and it was a bright as an office visit.
