Maybe it was our lack of Spanish in picking out the food but I was disappointed. My food was not interesting, we did not get the mix of mole to choose from. The Caesar Salad was fun to watch being mixed but tasted average. With all the choices in town i would not go back, sorry.

When I asked the staff person at my hostel about a place to try Oaxaca's seven moles at a place that wasn't fancy; she recommended this. I visited on a Monday at 3 PM. The place was half-full, but service was slow. I asked FOUR times over 10 or 15 minutes for a refill of my topopos (chips) before they... More

The service was really extraordinary. It was my first restaurant in Oaxaca and the waiter explained the dishes patiently, in Spanish, and advised me. What a wonder restaurant to be introduced to Oaxacan cuisine. Highly recommended.

Greatly enjoyed our dinner at Los Pacos. I had read reviews of this place and was expecting a good experience and it did not disappoint. Started with complimentary chips with 3 salsas, then a plate of delicious marinated vegetables (also free) and then a sampler plate of their 7 mole sauces with tacos to try (again free) after which you... We went here (the Santo Domingo branch) specifically for the 7 mole sampler. We were not going to have an opportunity to have them as separate meals so this was great. Early afternoon on Saturday, we were practically the only customers so the waiter had plenty of time to explain (in Spanish) each of the moles as we sampled them.... More

A nicely appointed restaurant not far from the upscale Santo Domingo area with high ceilings, deep colored walls, and iron work bar with a large roof top patio. The menu includes the 7 moles de Oaxaca including a sampler for small bites. Try the chapulines, fried grasshoppers, in the thick stringy fried cheese as an appetizer, complete with antennae.

The staff at our B&B recommended this place and we did enjoy it. We found many other restaurants that we found better. It specializes in local ethnic cuisine, and in that regard they did a good job. Nothing bad but we found a lot of other places we liked more. A bit expensive for the experience.

We' re so happy our tour guide (Juan Montes Lara, who we also highly recommend) told us that this was his favorite place. We asked for a sampler of all the moles (it didn't seem to be on the menu) but they willingly obliged- and at no charge. The waiter brought a place with small cups of all 7 types,... More
