My husband and I were in Oaxaca for Dias de los Muertos. We ate here twice. The food is prepared with such care. The waiters were bot h courteous and professional. When we go back we will certainly dine here again.

Located about a block or two away from the Zocalo, here you'll find this nice restaurant that offers both indoor and outdoor dining. During Dead of the Dead 2014, we ate here twice for lunch. Both times we had a nice experience and dined in in their very pleasant courtyard. The wait staff was very friendly. Our food was good... More

We were blown away by the food at Catedral - the menu show's a real variety of Oaxacan flavours including at least 7 types of mole. The setting is in a colonial courtyard with really nice decor and it made for a very romantic feel. I had the Mole negro with short rib and my partner had the Mole Amarillo... More

My wife and I were visiting Oaxaca city for 5 nights. We ate at a number of places and this was our favorite. We ended up eating here 3 times. Incredible moles and great atmosphere. Not cheap, but all the good places in Oaxaca are expensive by Mexico standards.

Had a special birthday dinner here with some local friends in the courtyard. Service was gracious and friendly. Although it is not a traditional Oaxacan dish, my husband and I each had a steak which was tender and flavorful. We agreed it was in our personal top 10 best steaks!

We had brunch here as a couple accompanied by another couple. It was our most expensive meal in oaxaca and by far the best. We didn't even have a beer or anything it was only the breakfast with a couple of starters. We did have fresh fruit juices, but still overpriced. Don't get me wrong, we did enjoy our meal.... More

Had breakfast here - it was delicious! And they brought me complimentary servings of memelitas. As with many of the restaurants in Oaxaca, it had a nice outdoor seating area behind the façade. But, be warned - I think it's closed on Mondays.

The restaurant featured local oaxacan cuisine. The location was in the heart of the historical district with patio and inside seating. It's within walking distance of Santo Domingo and the Zocalo. The ambiance in the evening was romantic. We sat outside on the patio near a fountain listening to a local musician who played the acoustic guitar as he sang... More

This is a lovely place and the food is very good but I'm not sure it's worth the price given the plenitude of good restaurants in Oaxaca. Nice decor, a little more formal than other places I visited. I'm still not sure what the 50 peso tax on my bill was for as I did not see it in any... More
