Great restaurant, lovely interior

This was a great restaurant with a beautiful courtyard interior. Good cocktails and wine list. Food was delicious and staff friendly. Loved it!

We couldn't believe we were in Mexico as the atmosphere was so strange, very unhelpful and unwelcoming! The food was OK but it couldn't overcome the bad ambiance.

The service was less than attentive. Management was indifferent. Food presentation was awful the wait staff never questioned why food went uneaten. When complaints were voiced and did sent back charges were not removed from the check. Substituations were offered and also added to the bill..

Thank you for your comments, we are troubled by the remarks you had over our service and food. Unfortunately and as in most restaurants in Oaxaca happens, waiters do not speak a perfect english which cause some misunderstandings. We can assure you, we are getting into action to prevent this sort of accident happening again. Therefore our headwaiter Juan Carlos... More

We have been to this place several times now, whose menu is completely different to that of Los Danzantes in Mexico City, and it has never let us down. One of our favorite dishes is the hoja santa filled with cheese and salsa verde, great dish! Try a margarita with mezcal.

We opted for the comida corrida on Friday afternoon and it didn't disappoint. Started with a mixed green salad followed by chicken with mole. Dessert was a lovely chocolate ice cream with 2 small apple turnovers. A shot of mezcal was included in the price. Very pretty space.

Lovely restaurant. Interior was quite nice. Unfortunately the food and service wasn't necessarily the best. Was dining and wishing I could be elsewhere. Staff seemed to be entertaining themselves more than serving the guest.

The setting is most attractive and the service was good but the food was really mixed. The duck tacos and baked cheese with green tomatillo sauce were both very yum indeed but the crusted fish was dry and unpleasant and accompanying vegetables for fish were almost raw rather than all dente. Desserts were all very good.

My sister and I were in Oaxaca celebrating our birthdays and decided to try Danzantes before we went for drinks and music. We arrived about 8:30 Saturday evening, and couldn't be seated because all tables were reserved. The hostess was very helpful and found seating in the bar area for us. We ordered entradas and drinks. The entradas we had... More

We visited based upon the trip advisor reviews, but were disappointed. The service and the atmosphere were pleasant, but the food was not of the quality we expected given the reviews and the prices. The fish with mole amarillo with vegetables was completely flavorless. The fish and shrimp soup was palatable, but lacking flavors besides that of fish. The pulpo... More

We had dinner there twice last week. We loved the food and vibe of the restaurant. I realized that I had booked a reservation at Los Danzantes through Open Table only to find out that I mistakenly booked a reservation in the Mexico City. They let me in anyway.
