Stop in here for a cafe

Serving good coffee and tea right next door to the bookstore. A perfect match.A large seating area in the courtyard next door.

Cafe Brújula is a typical espresso bar type establishment, but thoroughly planned to be as good as possible. The staff are well treated and (relatively) well paid, and hence are excellent baristas (friendly and polite of course, take initiative, look you in the eye, think ahead, react quickly etc). The coffee is local, organic, by cooperatives who get paid more... More

Only had the coffee, but I would go there anytime I wanted a really super coffee, the location on the Alcala with the outdoor courtyard is lovely. Little tables and people quietly looking at their computers while the birds are chirping.

Such a quaint little courtyard to enjoy your cappuccino. Great music and atmosphere. Gives Starbucks a run for its money.

Excellent service, beautiful courtyard ambiance for chilling while discovering this gem of a city. Healthy smoothies, lemonades, muffins and prime coffee quality ( almost the case with all coffee shops in Oaxaca).

Seven years of coming to Oaxaca, and Brujula still has the best coffee, hands down. The locations on the Alcala in Centro and the newer location in Reforma are really comfortable to sit at, with a nice courtyard on Alcala and a terrific outdoor patio in Reforma. I hear a new location is opening on the Alcala, across from Santa... More

Coffee is great. Food is delicious and so are the smoothies. I bought two pounds of coffee to bring home with me.
