My adult daughter and I were in town for Spanish lessons, and we started using this place as home base to meet up after exploring. If you want to buy books--fiction, art, history, politics--in Spanish, the adjacent store is incredibly well stocked. Great coffee, seating in the patio area, wifi, toasted sandwiches, fruit smoothies--all great.

This was the cafe nearest to the hotel where our tour stayed and everyone who visited the cafe returned. The coffee pleased our most picky connoisseur and I really enjoyed the fresh fruit liquados (smoothie or milkshake, depending on whether you choose to add milk or water). Definitely not the cheapest place in town, especially if you plan to eat... More

We went at midday, we were asked what we wanted about 20 minutes into our arrival, and the food didn't come for a bout 30 min afterwards. The service is terrible, I don't mean by this that they're lazy, but the organization is the worst. The food is quite nice, but it's just not worth the wait.

We frequented the Garcia Vigil as well as the Alcala locations, preferring the former (original spot). The graphic design is really fun and worth a look, at the very least, and the loft provides a cool place to hang out if the tables by the window are taken. Good cookies, and $3 peso chocolate bits in the shape of the... More

With so many nice little cafes in Oaxaca, this is the one I kept on coming back to. The coffee is nice and the sandwiches are just super. Nice friendly staff too! Give it a try!

Love the coffee here, local and freshly brewed plus a nice atmosphere. Good place to buy coffee to take home.

Oh, yes, and don't forget to try the cabezacongelado (frozen head). It's a fresh fruit drink that will give you a headache if you try to drink it too fast. They are yummy! The sandwiches are made on good fresh bread and filling enough to share.

Loved this place, proper frothy latte coffee, freshly made bagels and huge fruit, yoghurt & granola bowls. Great for fresh fruit smoothies too. There are two places in the town and both are excellent and really nice places to just chill.

Nice courtyard restaurant popular with locals. Innovative twists on oaxacan cuisine. Bar has lots of local beers and mezcals. Menu is translated into English.

This is way overpriced for what you get. I just didn't think the quality merited the prices. If you buy beans or ground coffee to make yourself, the quality is OK, but nothing stupendous. It doesn't match the quality of coffee that we've had in Italy, Vietnam and Costa Rica.
