El Japonez in Santa Fe district (Mexico City) is a place to have a delicious japanese/sushi meal. The kitchen is very creative, they care of having good and fresh ingredients, and so far, the quality has not changed a lot in the last 3 years. For lunch and late dinner is highly recommeded. The atmosphere is upscale (for Mexican standards)... More

Arrived at el japones for dinner and was amazed by the deccor of the place and its 2 ambiences, the terrace and the inside garden. Although theres room for a lot of people in the terrace you can hardly hear a lot of noise. Tried 3 rolls and they were quite good, also the brocoli kebabs were great!

Excellent food and service. They replaced our spicy plates at no charge bc the menu did not specify that it was spicy. So - double check! The bathrooms need some some fixing, but overall excellent place. I will be going back,

I was there this Friday with the family for my first time. At the entrance the place looks like a million other places I have been. However, once I stepped foot in the actual building the ambiance changed drastically. With see-through glass floors (on a second level), rocks on fire (fireplaces), wood ceilings/walls/floor, etc the place is nicely decorated. This... More

Despite that the place have a lot of remodeling on the sorroundings, El Japonez keep their charm and have a lot of people. The ambient is good, the facilities need manteinance and the menu needs a new attitude. We have a bad experience with the Sake and the food don't have any surprises. If you need to eat and you... I went out to dinner with some friends last week. The place is really nice, with a great location. Service was very good, drinks and food at proper time. It's a great place to have dinner with friends or family. My favorite thing to eat was the sushi cake, I very much recommend it. Prices were appropriate. Overall a good... More

Love the martinis, love the food except for the sushi which tastes like rice and nothing else. Very fresh fish and the ambiance is great!

This is a fun, trendy restaurant is the upscale Palenco neighborhood. The people watching is great. Please do not go expecting authentic Japanese food though. This restaurant and the cuisine have heavy Mexican influences which are delicious - just different.

El Japonez offers both regular and Teppanyaki style tables for your enjoyment. The menu is long and offers a variety of options where anyone can find something to love. The food is very fresh and the service is fast and efficient. My favorite item on the menu is the “tablitas de Atun” (loosely translates into Tuna tablets) which comes with... More
