Incredible scenery and margaritas, slightly lacking in value

While it was a bit of a journey to get to this restaurant, we did so on a budget by taking a tour bus to a certain stop and walking about 15 minutes. Taxi is probably the best way to get here, but however you arrive, the journey is more than worth it. We arrived before the restaurant opened... read more

i have been choosing this place to go on special ocassions like bdays and anniversaries for the last 30 years! it is very elegant and it has tables outside and inside in a very large saloon. the bar is also cosy with tables inside by the chimeney and outside. the live music makes this place a magical one!

This is a quite big restaurant, with different salons and live music. When I went there with my husband and friends, we were offered a table at the varanda, close to the piano. It was a very agreeable evening, with excellent food and drinks. Reserves are required.

Had lunch at the Antiguo San Angel Inn last Friday and wow was the place buzzing. With a great menu that features dishes you might not find in many places with a Mexican flavor, this is still the chic place it has always been known to be. I had the tongue a la Veracruzana which was excellent and of course... More

This is a place were foreing people like to think is Mexican food. It is quite fancy mexican traditional food in its upscale version. Food is fine but not quite what mexican food is nowdays. The seting of and old hacienda is the best part of the visit. Is a must to go.

The food was excellent. The service was excellent. It is a very large place with many private rooms. The architecture is great - a former convent. Those nuns knew how to live (well, maybe not so much). Good ambiance. A good place to take someone if you want to impress. I don't know about the prices because someone else paid,... More

This place is a jewel. The food is exquisite, the staff is always willing to help. It's kind of expensive, but not that much. Try the shrimp and the mole. It's a complete different experience.

The San Angel Inn is one of those places that are always great! The location and the hacienda the restaurant is located in is incredible. Do also take a walk around the rest of the hacienda. The restaurant is elegant and the food is great, no mather what you order, fish, meat or just a salad. Do also try the... More

San Angel isn't just simply a meal, it's a show. It's an antique hacienda where you can find an older crowd taking their time enjoying drinks and long lunches. People seem to know one another and it's a tradition. The food is impeccable as well as the service. Love love love this place. Kinda feels like home.

I would highly recommend the trip if in Mexico City for enough time. I like to go on Saturday morning, there is a non smoking patio that is beautiful. Inside is a nice atmosphere as well. Reservation recommended. On the weekends they have in the garden, an area where kids can play/do activities. I think it's 50 pesos or just... More
