Good place to eat !!

Our flight arrived early afternoon, so we were able to make El Cardenal our spot for dinner that evening (they close at 18:30, daily). The service and setting were both great ... and, they have an extensive menu. Nothing disappointed.

The restaurant is located in a beautiful old townhouse. You access the restaurant via elevator. The waiters are in formal attire and greet you warmly upon arrival. The food is very traditional with no surprises. All of our appetizers, drinks and entrees were excellent. I would gladly return.

This is my second visit here for breakfast and honestly, I don't get the gushing reviews as if this was a sacred and perfect restaurant. The decor and ambiance are definitely outstanding. I give it that. Very nice. The breakfast, though, was very ordinary. The eggs were overlooked, dull and dry with not much flavor. The coffee is good and... More

Simply outstanding mexican food! You should try "escamoles" during the raining season. One of the best places to try them.

Service at lunch about 1 PM was very good Had the cerdo in mole off the days suggestions and it was stellar. Not to mention very filling Everything is a la carte so you can run up a big bill. But you won't regret it

You sit at the table and are immediately offered coffee, tea or hot chocolate. Go for the hot chocolate. It's excellent. They are also re-filled when your cup goes empty. The bread is also good, pastry okay. Had the huevos rancheros. My dining partners asked to split their order. It came in two plates and each was more than enough... More

We had lunch at El Cardenal (Palma) after our Chapultepec visit. Great variety of typical mexican food. They are opened from breakfast to dinner. As far as I could see their breakfast must be really good because we arrived at 1 pm and people was still having breakfast. We were also asked if we wanted breakfast, so be very clear... More

This place has some good typical mexican food, it's an extremely good option for breakfast/brunch. It is alwasy pretty busy though, so don't expect to go for a quick bite to eat, as you will have to wait a bit. All of our food was good, and the service was just amazing! The prices aren't that bad either, especially since... More

Two blocks from the Zocalo located in an old Parisian style mansion on three floors. The hours are only 8-6, 9-6 on Sunday and there is a waiting period on Sunday. They serve breakfast until 1 pm. The food is excellent and I think the best traditional food in town. They have many unusual dishes. Service is very good. Graceful... More
