Contramar is expensive? Yes. But you get what you pay for. This is probably the best service in a seafood restaurant in Mexico and of course the food is excellent every time. Form their world famous tuna tostadas to the extraordinary grill huauchinago half red (a la talla) half green with handmade tortillas and beans. If you are looking for... More

Seafood at contramar is EXCELLENT, it is very fresh and flavorful. I really enjoy the way seafood is prepared at contramar as well as the atmosphere. The restaurant is not fancy, it is very casual and relaxed and food is excellent. If you are in Mexico City and like seafood this is a place you need to visit.

I went to Contramar about four years ago with a buddy who had been living in Mexico City for over a decade and I am still telling people about it, still bragging about how good that lunch was, and definitely still dreaming of going back... I'd go to MC just to eat there again - it was THAT good! What... More

The only reason this restaurant is not in the top 3 is because it is a dye-hard seafood restaurant. World-renowned mexican-cuisine savant Diane Kennedy has recognized the value and quality of this establishment. Go and order something, really, just go and start savoring, experiencing, remembering... And they serve Passmar coffe, one of the best in the city and winner of... More

Contramar is for sure one of the best restaurants in Mexico City when it comes to seafood. I have had a lot of good seafood in Mexico City, but this is easily the best. The quality of the food is excellent, and the preparing is excellent. This was my first visit to this restaurant, and I tried a little bit... More

I will not spend much time dissecting every little aspect of the food, service, setting, etc. I will only say that this place has awesome food, just the way I like it and probably just the way you will enjoy it...

We got to Contramar early so we had all the waiters to ourselves and could slowly watch the place fill up. Great wine, great food - especially the Tostadas de atun!
