This is probably one of the best sea food restaurants in Mexico City. The food is is excellent and the variety is awesome. The place gets packed so better do reservations.

This is definitely the place to go if you like super-fresh seafood. Staff here are helpful and the service is prompt. The restaurant caters to local business people and it was jammed. Luckily, we arrived 30 minutes before the big "rush" - so it worked out well. Pricing is moderate but worth it in terms of the selection and taste.... More

Contramar is always busy so this should in itself be a testimony to the restaurant. I could only get a table on the outside which was actually very nice. I wanted to try the Pescado a la Talla (opended grill fish with beans and home made salsa) but the waiter told me they only had large portions of more than... More

Always solid, always full, DF institution has epic tuna tostadas, ceviches (get the Contramar), filete a la talla, carnitas de pescado, and whatever waiter recommends. Wait staff is bar none and that's another pro for this fabulous eating experience.

We ate outside because they told us inside was all booked. I thought it was instead because we were in casual dress, as it seemed almost empty, but five minutes after arrived two poshy girls, and they were told the same. Anyway inside it is nothing special. The service was very attentive. We had some good chevice and after i... More

Bustling spot with tables close together and a huge noisy crowd. The seafood is FRESH and delicious. My only reason for four stars is the noise. Until the crowd thinned out we could not carry on a conversation. Nice wine and beer selection here. Huge selection on the menu.

I decided to go to Contramar for lunch after reading this article www.gq.com/food-travel/travel-features/201209/mexico-city-travel-guide-gq-september-2012#slide=20 and it was totally worth it. It is so lively, service is excellent, food is delicious and the atmosphere. I loved it. I tried Tacos de pescado al pastor and the tuna snack that the author suggests (tostadas de atun). I also had a coco cake -... More
