This was recommended as the top seafood restaurant in Mexico City and it delivered! We went for lunch (call ahead!) because they were closed in the evening. Copped a table outside and ordered octopus, tomatoes and basil and Mahi-Mahi filets. Octopus was to die for... Dazzle of amazing virgin olive oil and spicy paprika. Fantastic sauces atop of our fish....All... More

I've enjoyed this place, it's simple looking but it does offer really good food. It's a little expensive for what they offer, but It's mexico city.

If you get there before 2PM you can walk in, but even if you have to wait ever bustling Contromar is worth it. Tuna carnitas, pulpo with potato, fish taco, sopas with ceviche, various Mezcal. Simple, straight-forward, high quality fun. The tuna carnitas were passed over by the next table when I inquired what they were--the generous neighbors also took... More

At Durango Street in Colonia Roma and other called Entremar in Polanco (where service is a disaster). Very nice atmosphere with soft beach music and a giant blackboard showing some verse; allways crowded, it is recommend to arrive early (2:00 or 2:30) to ensure a quick table. Otherwise relax and wait at least 30 mins. I definitelly recommend "Tacos de... More

There are so many restaurants in the city is but Contramar is among the best ones when it comes to really fresh seafood there are two of them the one in Durango always crowded and the other one in Polanco lesser crowded. It is difficult to recommend any particular dish but from Cebiche to a grilled fish is trully delicious!... More

This is definitely one of the best restaurants in mexico for seafood and fish, everything is fresh, tasty and delicious. The place is nice, nothing fancy, always crowded, the service is great. You must have a reservation if not you can wait for a long time but it's worth it.

I´ve been here for about six times in the last four years. The last year I only went once because I got tired of the waiting line routine. If you go for lunch during weekends, be prepared to wait at least half and hour for a table. The decoration is simple but the informal atmosphere has something that is attractive... More

this place is one of my favorites, there's always a line, so be sure to make a reservation at least a week in advance. Friday is THE DAY, you can bump into actors, politicians, socialites....ther'e no dinner, since all the lunch tables stay until 10pm or 11pm, their closing hour. try the tuna tostadas, soft shell crab tacos, or really... Getting a table might imply a short wait. Food's so good people don't want to rush through the meal! Fresh seafood, the service is fantastic and highly recommended.
